Just to add to what the hand said, it would be amazing if we could just settle on a team for more than one transfer window. Apart from one or two problem .positions its nigh time we
Put faith in our better players instead of bringing in 35 guys a window....

Fitter squad with a never say die attitude.I think strachan was a huge factor aswell and people fail to realise how good a manager he was.

Aye Rangers were spending the money back then right enough £12 m for Flo .we were still competing with money from the Biscuit tin ....Rangers however are paying for all their overspending now and thats the difference ....your right about not being able to compete money wise , but we can compete moneywise in the SPL ..Rangers have now Blown all their CL money so lets see what happens i for one am content with the squad we have assembled maybe with the addition of a goalscorer to come :celt_2:

We've now got a situation where EVERYONE in Scotland is sitting up & listening. We are in a * state of affairs at the moment & massive changes are going to be required to change it for the better.

There will be a huge shake up of the administrating authorities, bringing grassroots football into the leagues & by bringing in summer football, also with more investment in social football with facilities & coaches available at reduced rates to ANYONE who wants it.

The Celtic Board have had a massive slap in their faces, they said they took a serious measure in signing Lenny - as said previously changing managers every year for the last 3 seasons has lead to this day. The Board have to stay strong in their conviction.

We have the makings of a good team & now at least Lenny should have woken to the imposters like Fortune, Sammy, Hooiveld, Loovens, Brown etc.. They're just my suggestions, he'll now know who cannot be trusted with the mantle of rebuilding our reputation & has acted swiftly to Fortune (although he said he'd have kept him ).

With a settled team & a hungry commited manager we have a chance, but Lenny is on a vertical learning curve & the Media will not hold back, some fans are doubting him quite rightly as he really * up every important game he's played so far - but there are some positives & I'm hopeful.

The future is looking very very bleak for Celtic and I'm not saying this as a kneejerk reaction to the result on Thursday night.

We have lost the league the last two years to a Rangers team who have been on their knee's financially. We had a chance to bury them 2 years ago but we gave the a chance and they have accepted the gifts we have gave them. They now have 2 years of Champions League football probably bringing in around £20-£25 million whilst we have had 2-3 miserable European campaigns in a row.

They are now in the position we were in 2-3 years ago where they have the chance to take a step to the next level and dominate Scottish football for the next few years. They have an experianced manager in charge, a settled team and they have added 2 good players to that squad.

Whereas we have appointed a manager with no experience who has been given the task of completely renovating an absolute shambles of a team from the previous couple of years. It is a massive gamble signing 10 (maybe more) players in the one transfer window.

Not so long ago were we on the same level as teams like Lyon, Stuttgart and Benfica. Parkhead was one of the most feared grounds in Europe and now we have been reduced to no European football after August. It's an absolute disaster.

We might not even have seen the worst yet, it has the potential to get a whole lot worse.

The players that got us there were shipped out and replaced by players not as good

Miller scored 3 vital goals in group 06/07
Jarosik scored 2 in CL and won the 2 Naka free kicks
Balde played vs Man U but never got another fair crack

Scottish football needs revamped for every club, including us, to flourish.

I remember under Strachan that fans were saying 'I want good football' even though we were winning trophies. I wonder how many fans would want to go back to the days of Strachan now?

IF we had signed S Fletcher in January 08, we would have won the league, and probably gone on to win last season as well.

How anyone can blame the board right now is unreal. Funded the Keane loan deal in Jan, bought a heap of players this summer, end of.

Our Champs league squad in 06-07 was average, but there were fighters. Celtic lads who burst a gut. However, there time had come to be shipped. Unfortunately, being attached to the English means any promising youths in Scotland go there (Dorrans, Fletcher, McCarthy etc). So we have to rely on imports. I think our national team will thrive more if the SPL gets worse.

We have good, talented players now, you can just tell that. Caught with their pants down on thursday, something they will make sure does not happen again. Massive game on Sunday, a true test of character. Kayal, Ledley, Juarez, Dan, Cha all need to play out their skins, otherwise we are in for another Mowbray year, and the money spent has been totally wasted.
