I think that Samaras always gives nothing less than 100%, I wouldn't say it's lack of effort it's lack of confidence. He's a confidence player and the fans need to understand this - When Keane misses a sitter the whole ground encourages and chants "Keano, Keano, Keano", but the last time I was at Parkhead and Sammy missed a shot after running his socks off to create the chance, there was a huge "aargh!" around the ground and one fat bloke behind me said "* sake Samaras you * bubble".

Samaras never stop running and trying, we have nothing to really gain by letting him go, a small transfer fee and his small wages off the budget? Keep him.

Ive been critical of him in the past but it was NEVER through lack of effort, to say he gives 20% is nonsense , im willing to give him another chance because i think lenny can impove him, and brown aswell.

Personally I like the guy I remember his 1st goal vs killie took the ball just inside his own half and destroyed the defence with his pace. Now granted its never been quite like that since but the guy clearly loves Celtic im just concerned that he's coming into the last 12 months of contract syndrome, I mean how many times do you see players play utter * for 2 of a 3 year contract but the last year turn into * world beaters to get themselves a fat pay cheque but no chance of sammy doing that right?

Really dislike him as a player - has the physique and speed to be a great player but is always a let down - had a half decent pre season and people want him in the team. Hes not good enough for celtic, I do think he trys hard but there are better players in the squad. Im pretty sure lennon has not been fooled by the pre season games.

    Spot on.

Sometimes I puts my hands to the head when he gives the ball away too easy because his lack of technic and ball control.
But I always thinks he gives 100%. His workrate and pace doing everything for him in my book.

He has had his chance with us in my opinion.I wouldn't have signed him after his loan.he will never be consistant enough and has missed far too many big chances in games.and I class fortune as much the same

I just get the impression that people have too high standards for Celtic, especially in the SPL.

He's never going to be Larsson, or Torres, in fact won't ever get the goals of Boyd.

But what he does bring is another good option the the team, I believe he is the best striker in the SPL and at the very least I would be happy with him being 3rd or 4th choice striker. He seems happy here, shows a real willingness to improve and a love for the club and is a good honest guy.

When he's playing up front you can guarantee he'll be in and around the top scorers as he has been for the past 2 seasons so in summary I think people are just way way too harsh on him.

Must be hard being a Celtic forward this last season or two.

No maestro in the middle of the park who can pass a decent through ball.

No decent service from McGeady who's crosses were woeful most of the time.

Terrible crossing from Naylor, Hinkel and Braafheid.

Add to this hardly a decent selfless forward to help out...Henrik and Sutty scored plenty but also set up plenty - for each other and the rest of the team.

Samaras should be given a break, he's proved he can play and is a real trier, his Celtic career has also been disrupted with 3 different managers in three years and he's incurred a few injuries - one sidelining him for 4 months. He deserves this season to prove himself.

On another issue, I'd get shot of Rasmussen and Fortune before him.

I'm torn on Samaras tbh. I think the reason he gets scrutinized so much is because we all know that he has the ability to be something special.

We've seen how good he can be, and the abuse he gets is more from people's frustrations that he cant reproduce that kind of form on a consistent basis.

Players of lesser ability, aren't "abused" as much because we don't expect them to be world beaters - Sammy really could be.

how can you get rid of samaras. flowing, dinamic, full of life..yes he really does have great hair. Seriously tho, i dont know, his lankyness and size brings something different to the team, but when i watch him i keep thinking hes got an extra gear hidden away in there somewhere. Hopefully after lennys thrown a few shoes at him during the half time team talks to come, he might shake him to life. could you imagine seeing samaras foaming at the mouth and giving it all like his life depended on it, now that would be something. Maybe we could threaten to cut his hair!!!

I have seen this so called star at walking pace in games and not giving 100% so don't know how many games a year you watch, ditch him, same as a lot of them once they got the contract and no rival to give him a kick up the *, he will just be the same, punt him now:38:

I say keep him, ok he is not the marksman we cry out for every transfer window but he is a good player good on the ball most of the time. I try making him into a AM and use him as a link between the mf and attack.....

Unsure. He's worth the Million we payed for him. Good goal getter I suppose considering he's played both out of position and off the bench for the bulk of his career here.

I'd sooner get shot of the rest of the forwards without doubt. Fortune', I can handle but why keep McGowan, Rasmussen and Sheridan ffs? Hopeless.

    Bring back McDonald and Biggins:icon_mrgreen:

Punt him. He'll do what he always does and fold under pressure eventually. There are plenty of players with good enough ability but not enough conviction to make it at Celtic, and Samaras is one of them.
