Is it a coincidence that he couldn't be assed to play after contract talks broke down? Probably not.

We've had what, 1 and a half good seasons out of Sammy? Shows how * things must be now that people are seeing him as some sort of messiah. Probably the same idiots that continuously slagged him off and booed him while he was playing for us.

Samaras wasn't consistent? Wow, there's something we didn't know. The fact remains that he turned up when it mattered. More so than anyone else who has pulled on a Celtic jersey this decade. Quite frankly, I didn't give a * how poor he was in Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Perth or Dingwall when he was scoring goals in Barcelona, Lisbon, Moscow, Helsinki and Stockholm to restore some pride to Celtic.

 

Did Samaras not get Fans player of the year the season before last and was rewarded with... not a contract offer anyway. A player like Samaras, that's enough to * him up. He was brilliant that year and should have been rewarded with 3 more, much like Commons this year.

We're always moaning about players wanting to move to the EPL, then we get a guy like Samaras who won't accept more money elsewhere and we are saying No. What message does that send out?

He's a great left winger going forward, he's never injured, he looks for the ball, he's height up front , he is Celtic daft and he's better than Boerrighter.

 

in a nutshell, this for me. a free signing of a multi million pound player who is mad about us? no brainer.

 

I can't see Lawwell asking Sammy back, PL never backs down in negotiations and it would make him look weak.

I was happy enough at the time to see him go as I expected us to replace him with a younger, more consistent player but that's all gone to * and it's far to say he would immediately become our best player if signed for the Maribor game.

No matter his * performances 1 thing you could always say about Sammy was that he turned up in the Champions League. And we could desperately do with him next week.

 

Osman Sow honestly reminds me a lot of Samaras, just going by what I saw of him at the weekend against the scum. Similar height, build and style of play. Only 24 years old.

I know you can't properly judge a player after seeing him play only once, but I also read that he had a good pre-season for Hertz.

 

It's all negative bringing back samaras, we have ample coin and we should spend it on new signings who will give 100% every game.

I believe, and am not 100% on this, that Forster left after the first Maribor deadline, meaning we are allowed the replace his squad position with 1 new player. EDIT: Sorry, it appears I didn't even read your post I somehow read "eligible" instead of "match fit".

Sammy would undoubtedly give everyone - players and fans - a huge lift going into Wednesday, but as I said I highly doubt Lawwell will crawl back with his tial betwen his legs and say "alright, come back you big hairy *". It would also be one of the stupidest moves we've ever made getting rid of someone only to bring them back months later - a complete waste of a crucial UEFA registration as well.

 

I remember the name, but don't remember seeing much of that Ngoo lad at all to be honest.

Sow was impressive however, and might be worth keeping tabs on at least until January to see what else he can do in the Championship.

 

But he hasn't played since the WC and we don't even know if he's been training with anyone. At best he could be ready for the home game if he's been training with a club and we sign him tomorrow. At worst it could be easily a month until he's ready to play.
