The guy is an imposter and should not be anywhere near Parkhead.

There were worse player on the pitch, the problem is sammy doesnt play well with hooper as a loan striker he works (when he turns up) but he doesnt break forward to support hooper he holds the ball and moves backwards and does his fair bit of back tracking too, but all this makes hooper look like a * as he isnt getting anything from him.

Had to vote no. He certainly wasn't close to being our worst player but in a straight choice of whether he played well or not, i'd have to say no.

An imposter? You think hes a hun in disguise?

He's doing his all for the team and was not near the worst player ont he park the other day.

People really need to lay off him a bit.

Have NEVER rated Samaras and doubt that I ever will...Far too inconsistent, just not good enough to play for Celtic! Why he's just got a new 3 year contract baffles me :/

I think the poll question is a bit unfair. No-one played well yesterday so the results of the poll are a little misleading. A fairer question would be: Do think Samaras played any worse than any other Celtic player?
    Yes or No?
If you asked this i think you'll find that Samaras will fare a little better.

Sammi deserves a bit of praise for at least trying to play football. I think players such as Rogne, Commons, Ki and especially Hooper should be the getting more criticism than Sammi for yesterday's performance.

It's a wonder why Sammi chose to stay at out club with all the abuse he gets. At one point during the game he stopped and put his foot on the ball to look if anyone was making a run and he got dog's abuse from our fans. But when Hooper hoofs the ball out of play when he tries a cross into the box, we only get a slight murmur from the crowd.
And stokes and his Dad are getting a little bit cocky in the press, thinking they're bigger than the club but stokesy doesn't get any stick, it's always scapegooat Sammi who cops it...Unfair to say the least.

When Sammi has a an average game, he's labelled as being "inconsistent". When Hooper has a crap game he's excused as being "unfit".
When Commons has a crap game he's "not getting support".
    etc etc
Why is every other polayer bad play excused but Sammi gets all the abuse i wonder? Is it because he's can pull any bird in Scotland (including Hun supporting birds) and commands a £30K a week salary ....it can only be that. There's no logic to the hatred.

Commons has five goals already this season in 10 appearances. He is a midfielder.

Hooper has 15 goals this season in 25 appearances.

Samaras has 6 goals this season in 27 appearances.

    Your analysis is one dimensional.

Look at minutes played, quality of opposition and goal assists and then we'll talk some more...

His first touch was awful, he was constantly giving the ball away. He had his moments, but he just isn't consistent enough. Before Rangers second goal, he gave the ball away and instead of running to try and make emends, he stood there with his hands on his head. Useless.

Sammy had one goal assist. The only assist Hoops got was assist the ball into row Z with a shin shank.

How do you quantify quality of oppisition ?
    Commons 5 goals 10 games v Aberdeen 2
    Rangers 4
    Dundee Utd
    Motherwell
    Hamilton
    ICT
These 10 games would probably be better then average SPL oppisition.

European games, Old Firm clashes, scoring against Cally etc is no measure of someone's striking abilities.

Perleeze, lets not compare scoring sitters against ICT or Motherwell with Sammy's Euro goals, last minute thumpers against Dynamo Moscow AWAY, sending us through, a chest down an wallop against Utrecht sending us into the lead in the away leg, and match winning goals against the Huns and for his country.
We are talking a serious striker with serious goals against serious opposition. We're not talking about goals scored against League Division One quality of opposition (Stokes and Hooper) with their last minute PENALTIES against the Huns, Aberdeen and Hamilton Acafuckingdemicals in the CIS cup.
    Let's get serious here.
One player has played in the World Cup, Premiership, National Level, European level, against the worlds top opposition and the other is Hooper. When Hoops and stokes show more than their penalties and goals against inferior opposition then you might start uttering their names in the same breath as Georgey Samaras, until then, talk about them according to their level i.e. bench-warming squad rotationers and starters against the ICT's of this world.

That's a glowing report that even Sammy's agent would be proud of kirk..
Doesn't change anything though , Sammy breaks up more of our attacks than any opposition player does and that was evident again on Sunday...
Don't fool yourself into thinking one assist equals having a good game , or having 90% more of the ball (yet wasting 70% of it) compared to our other striker somehow means he played well.. Sammy living off goals that he's scored in months gone by and for his country aren't going to win us the league title this year.. That has proven to be the case the last two seasons also..

Celtic opperate in the SPL. Without sucess in the SPL Celtic will not play in Europe. Depending on strikers like Samaras who cannot score against SPL oppisition will not see us qualify for Europe. So maybe if we can afford to pay Samaras to play in our European team where he can show his true class or maybe get Celtic to start playing international
football we can see what a real asset he is.
