. The point i am making though is that a player is paid enough money and is working in a profession where pressure is high so they ought to play to their best under any circumstances - obviously players will have bad games but they shouldn't be so weak of mind that the displeasure from the crowd affects their performances.[/QUOTE]

I think that is a ridiculous point of view based primarily on a guy getting paid x amount.
No matter how large the pay packet may be how can it possibly make him immune to howls of derision from the fans. Can you not imagine how this would effect him to the point where his confidence is shattered along with his nerves when on the ball.
We keep referring to fortess Parkhead where the crowd can lift you (i.e. the 12th man syndrome), why then should'nt effect you the other way when the 12th man is heaping derision on you.

If I could go to a celtic game, i will make some banners and chant for Samaras myself.:icon_mrgreen: I would still cheer for him even if he does something frustrating, i'd cheer cause he's part of the team, and well he is my favorite player.

There are lots of people in lots of jobs who could use a little boost, a little "you're doing alright" push in the back. Sammy could use that more than most. For you to suggest that this doesn't happen in any other industry is completely ridiculous. And more than that name one other profession where there are 50,000 people sitting there waiting to scream at you if you mess up. Seriously, not * around. Think of yourself in the middle of 50,000 people, and as soon as you mess up your job they are all over your back. If anything, his job is different than ours and requires a pat on the back more than ours. How much he's getting paid doesn't matter... it's well and good to say "aww right he should just be able to play", but saying that to yourself doesn't change the fact that he does play better with higher confidence. For you to not give it to him is almost like you are willing him to fail.
