Seems RD has took habit of knowing the top teams in Europe's academy's better than their clubs themselves. Look at his signings at his previous club and some of the players we have been looking at. That's where the real gems are and we can get true value for money if done right. I'm pretty sure he was quoted saying that this is one of the signing methods he will follow somewhere when talking about scouting under 21 competitions etc. Not really something new more of an evolution on what the club is already doing.

I'll reiterate. When Wanyama signed we had: Brown, Ledley, Kayal and Ki. We didn't need him.

Low and behold he turned out a better player than all of them. So aye, on the face of it it seems like an unnecessary signing, but he might be excellent. He's only 19

On the other hand right back is a pretty specified position. Celtic play with 3 'central midfielders' so there's a lot more opportunity to play. If you're a right back, you need to be the no.1 right back or game time will be limited to injuries, end of game cameos and meaningless games.

 

I can see Fisher and/or Matthews leaving now tbh.

 

I hope Matthews doesn't. It would be a shame to lose a genuinely solid player. I'd like a loan move for Fisher. If Lustig stays fit there's no hope for any of them.
