    The new guy???

You havent seen him play nor know his name but he must start in front of Samaras.

This armchair management is laughable at times

With a record that's worse than John Barnes, I can't see how he can reamin in charge. Last night was the final straw. There is no passion or motivation coming from him - he just stands there like a rabbit in the headlights. I feel really sorry for him as he comes across as a decent, honest, man, but the job is just too much, and too big for him. I hope he will face this fact and go, before he is sacked.

The Board made a HUGE error in appointing him -a panic measure after Coyle knocked them back. The way things are going, Mowbray is destroying the club and fans are leaving in their droves.

As for Samaras - he's a total waste of space and should be sold immediately. There must be a waiting job going in a Greek Taverna somewhere that he could get. A total joke of a player.:47:

All this comparison with Barnes is laughable, you are not comparing like with like, look at the quality of players Barnes had at his disposal compared to Mowbray.

The board had a short list, Mowbray was on it so to say it was a panic measure is a bit OTT.

Mowbray is not destroying the club, fans didn't renew their season tickets before he took over, other fans can't afford to go to all the games and I'm pretty sure some of the fans that have stopped going will be back when we go on a winning streak

As for Sammy, that's an entirely different thread altogether!

Its the managers job to make sure we don't drop as many points as we have..... motivate before, during and after the game.......

its the manager the picks Samaras on a weekly basis even though he only scores 1/10 of every clear cut chances... etc etc

Its not TMs fault. Two of those sitters Samaras missed last night, I would have scored myself. And Iv only got one leg!!!
Time some of the players started taking responsibility.

I can see both sides of the argument. However, I think that sacking Mowbray just now will achieve nothing. We're near the end of a busy transfer window for the club and Mowbray is shaping the team to play the way he wants them to play and a way in which he believes will bring us trophies. He said at the start that he knew winning the league was a priority.

People craved pretty football but this season has proved that they prefer results. You can have both but to achieve that takes a lot of time and effort. It's obvious that a lot of supporters don't have the patience. Losing the league to Rangers for the second season in a row would be hard to take but we have to accept that if we want attractive football that also brings results, then we're going to have to go through a couple of rough patches first. What the team needs just now is what we in the stands should be best at, support. They need support, we should give it.

I reckon Mowbray will walk before he is pushed.
He has failed in his manager's remit to motivate the players
and keep us in title contention with the Huns.

It is a sackable offence IMO

heres an interesting fact. CELTIC CAN'T AFFORD TO SACK MOWBRAY! the costs would easily exceed a million to terminate his contract. Besides all the fools on here, Mowbray is the man to do the job. HAIL HAIL TM

As much as i like and admire TM as a person i have to admit to being disappointed with his reign so far, that said, i wouldn't sack him yet, i'd give him till the end of the season and see how the 2nd half of the season had gone, and, if he has shown he can get the team winning regularly, beat Rangers and his signings have done well, then, i would give him another year, if not he must go.

I agree the treatment of samaras is shocking he's scored a few important goals for us.

    Mowbrays tactics are shocking though.

2 sitting midfielders and two forwards on the wing, How are we going to score this way?

The next manager won't only be given until may you know that fine well he could not be blamed for not winning the league in the situation mowbrays got us into as long as he is compatent enough not to fall 10pts behind rangers in a poor SPL ,

People forget we are not playing in the EPL we are playing in a very poor league and despite the moans about the money he has to spend he still has hugely more money than any of the teams we are playing against (including rangers) to spend.

So how can you make a case to defend a manager who has....

:More money than his competition but cannot beat them on a regular basis like he should at a club like celtic.

:Cannot motivate the players he has at his disposal witch i think is a decent squad.

:Tell these player via the media he wants rid of them all.

:seems to think that playing good football comes ahead of winning games.

:Has no idea how to organise a leaking defense or how to get his team scoreing.

Could people stop saying mowbray gtf and make a case for why you want him out instead of just doing this
    :31::31::31::31:

    It just cheapens the arguments.

Money isn't always the major factor in how a team plays, how a team gels is much more important than how much is spent - look at the amount of money Real Madrid has spent over decades for little real results

At the start I would have agreed with you, and I still have a question mark over his motivational skills, however, in recent weeks the squad has looked more like a group and less like individuals, I believe the results will soon follow

I agree that was a mistake, even although we all knew it was true it should have been done in private

The amount of fans that were calling for good football last season was unbelievable, now that an attempt has been made to deliver it they are now calling for a return to grinding out results. IMO there has to be a combination, he realises this and I don't see much wrong with his tactics over recent games, again at the start of the season I would have agreed with you, but recently has been better which suggests he's learning.

The team scoring - he can't put the ball in the back of the net, he has the team set up to create numerous chances for the strikers but they are not putting away the simplest of goals, there's not much TM can do about that.

The defense is worrying, he's chopped and changed so much and selling Caldwell was a mistake, although that could have been the board saying take the money now instead of getting nothing at the end of the season. He realises this is the weakest part though and is trying to improve it, hopefully Hooiveld turns out to be the type of no nonsense CB we're crying out for.

6 months is more than enough of a settling in period imo, We should be settled and beating the likes of hibs never mind bottom of the table falkirk.

Too sum up i don't think it will get better and we'll wait till he mucks up next season before we want to sack him and guess what rangers will be going for 3 in a row. bleak times.
