Really like Christie as a player.

Can see him filling PR7's boots if a permanent deal with City cannot be done next summer.

Always said I had my doubts about him ever being a starter but tbh there is no reason why he shouldn't be allowed back to challenge the likes of Rogic.

He is a number 10 first and foremost.

Two successful loans, he is proving himself..

That's the point of a loan like this give him game time and force his way back into BRs plans..

Deserves a chance next season, only in the 10 role he's not a wide player imo..

Yep, No.10 seems to be his position, not wide.

He's definitely improving as a player. Hopefully enough to get in with a shout of being part of the first team squad next season.

Would definitely be the kind of player that would've played today. Looking forward to him coming back and seeing if he can prove himself here.

    Good wee player..

Absolutely bossing it at the sheep. Their own manager said exactly that despite Shinnie and co being up there..

The only thing holding him back is his mobility. No too slow but if he was quick, I don't think we'd be loaning him out..

Definitely think he'll be in our squad next year..

Just seen his goal for Aberdeen. What a hit!

If Armstrong moves on as suspected either in January or next summer then we should be promoting Ryan into the role or the gap it will leave in the squad at least. Excelling in the same way Armstong was at DU when he was earning rave reviews.

This is exactly why he struggled here when given chances, he is never a winger in a million years.

Hopefully he comes back from his loan, and is given a chance to prove himself.

Looks a wonderful young player, with a great attitude.

Yup more the role Rogic plays, but will be good to get him back see if he carries on performing at that level. It will also push Rogic on as he will have Christie pushing for that place.

He has scored some amazing goals since he went to Aberdeen.

Hope he gets more of a chance when he comes back. Always thought he deserved more of a chance before going out on loan. Thought he played well any time he got the chance for us.

Reminds me of McGregor in a way, not your typical Scottish player has a lot of technical ability and is very comfortable on the ball.

Mate, we have an abundance of talent now - especially with the current home grown players we have the now, and the ones we have in our youth ranks. Apart from defence, and goalkeeper - we could probably field a right good * team of Scottish lads.

    Griffiths

    Johnston Christie Forrest

    McGregor Brown

    Tierney McCart Boyata Ralston

Outwith us he's probably the most comfortable and gracious player on the ball in Scotland..

Yeah by quite a distance. Fantastic that Christie and McGregor both belong to us.

It’s great that they are both Scottish too. Hope the next Scotland manager gives them a chance. They will be a huge improvement on the likes of McArthur, Morrison, Bannan etc.

He is the best player in the league outwith us at the moment and even then he is technically our player. With Armstrong most likely out the door soon and Roberts back to City then Christie is ready to step up especially in no.10, he is more mobile and aggressive than Rogic which Brendan loves and plenty technical ability with a touch of quality in the final 3rd so would be great to see them 2 battle it out.
Plus Christie can play on the right and even up front.

Ryan Christie is hoping to follow Callum McGregor into the Celtic first-team by getting the most that he can out of his loan spell away from the club.

McGregor was farmed out to English side Notts County on loan back in 2013, and returned to Celtic a more accomplished player for the experience.

Christie is hoping that his own temporary spell at Aberdeen can do the same for him after already propelling him into the Scotland squad, earning his first cap for his country last Thurdsay against The Netherlands.

And Christie will be going back to Celtic in the summer with a point to prove after honing his game at Pittodrie.

“Callum is a good example,” Christie said. “Playing alongside him during the Scotland gathering, you can see that he is an exceptional player.

“He is so gifted on the ball and you look at the way he has come through at Celtic.

“He had to go away to England to get games and progress.

“It shows that, when you do out on loan, it doesn’t mean that you are on the road out of that club.

“You can see how Callum has kicked on. He looks like one of the Top 10 players at Celtic right now and that’s great for him.

“It’s also good for me to look at him, look at his road and try to replicate it.

“Playing week in and week out helps my belief instead of sitting there on the sidelines and thinking that I’m not good enough.

“Playing for Scotland helps confidence, it shows that I might be able to go back to Celtic and prove a point.”

One of the key things that Christie believes will stand him in good stead upon his return to his parent club, is that he is already getting a taste of dealing with pressure and expectation week-in, week-out at Aberdeen.

While not on the same level as the demands placed upon players at Celtic, Christie says the expectant Dons crowd are toughening him up and helping him to play with that weight on his shoulders.

“There are demands at Aberdeen,” he said. “It’s one of the main reasons why I chose to go on loan.

“I’m not saying it is as big as Celtic, but there is still that pressure and expectation to win games week in and week out.

“It was key that I had that pressure placed onto me every game. That experience helps me and that I can deal with it."
