I don’t know why management continued to play him out of position where he’s been * all season while he’s not signing a contract extension. If you’re not going to play him cm or if he’s downing tools etc just bench him. Let him sit there for the season until his contract runs

Because that would have been to admit we have no RW and that the manager was just being a * to Dembele.

Christie was found out NOT to be able to play RW about 3 years ago, yet here we are... Can't wait to see the back of this one.

There's a decent player in there. Bad guidance or attitude though.

It makes me worried that he shares the same agent as Turnbull.

You could say that about a lot of our players. However I'm surprised we didn't try and offload him in January to someone like Newcastle. We had Rogic, Turnbull and McGregor to play as an attacking midfielder. Then bring in a RIGHT WINGER.

Go back 6 months in here and folk demanding 20 million for him. Fast forward, now he's the worst player in the world and needs free transferred. Folk actually wanting Calmac punted as well, cos he's * now apparently.

With the way things were progressing, he seemed like such a natural successor to Rogic through the middle.

He had an engine and energy that seemed endless, at times showed signs his close control and footwork was equal to Rogic and even at times superior as there was flashes of him receiving the ball at speed to immediately play a silky one touch pass to attackers.

Now he's been shafted to the wing because we refused to play Dembele and recruit sufficient support to Forrest and we are in a position were pretty much, every fan is more than happy to see him leave, fee or no.

Celtic's season can be summed up by just looking at the state of Christie.

For me baring a very hot streak at the start of last season playing as a 10, he looked a far better 8 when he first broke in the team. Games against Leipzig and Salzburg showed that particularly the later as he was one of our only players that didn’t look out of place that night.

Where Christie does show brilliance at times for me he doesn’t have the close control to play as a 10, he also doesn’t have the ability to make space for himself and retain possession in tight spaces. I think this is why he has never had a good game against them, as if you mark him tight when he tried to dribble he knocks the ball too far away from himself and loses possession.

Christie is also guilty of being careless in possession too often. Lastly this season he has been far too greedy. During that golden spell at the start of last season he could have shut his eyes swung his left leg at the ball and it was flying in the top corner, now your lucky if he keeps it in the stadium.

I do agree though he is never a right winger he has no real turn of pace and can’t even kick the ball with his right foot so always has to come inside.

I can understand peoples frustrations with him, however he isn't a bad player he is being played at RW, remember Armstrong when he played out left? He was absolutely * useless compared to what he could offer in the centre and thats exactly where we should be playing Christie as a number 8 in the centre of the park allowing him to make late forward runs in the box and picking up 2nd balls outside the box getting shots off. His passing and decision making when shooting needs improving but i have some sympathy for him considering he is never given a chance in his favoured position.

In a 4-3-3 him & Turnbull at 8 bombing forward would be a great watch.

Lenny played Christie at centre-mid in the diamond behind Turnbull plenty this season. Makes no difference when the guy’s bent on trying Hollywood passes and low-percentage shots from midfield. He’s an open invitation for counter-attacks in that position. For me, he’s a #10 all day long, and even then, he wants to work on his tendency to be selfish and uneconomic with the ball.

Struggle to think of a more selfish player we’ve had down the years. Thinks he’s a superstar.

He's only an open invitation for counter attacks if our rest-defence is absolutely * * which it currently is considering we have someone who appears to be trying to copy every ounce of * Neil Lennon did, I doubt Lennon even knows what setting up to block counters while in possession is. As long as you have a +1 at the back and both our centre halves and 6 locked onto potential threats on the counter then it doesn't really matter where he goes because we are set up to block counters and should affect anything that comes our way, in Scotland most teams only leave 1 up against us if any at all so we can be 2v1 at the back with our 6 holding the centre and teams should have absolutely no out ball against us because even if they break outwide we are still 3v1 and have players making recovery runs.

Agreed with the * Hollywood passes and mental longshots but he can be coached out of the stupid longshots, the passes are something he's going to try because he's a creative player.

He was put in a diamond by a manager who didn't do an ounce of coaching on shape, analysis, or positional play in training and we all know how thats turned out, the diamond is a very hard formation to play and even harder for the players to play in it hence why its very rarely used by trams around the world and our * great and glorious ex Celtic manager Neil Lennon played it anyway, its too difficult a formation to play unless you are properly coached. It speaks volumes that our last proper manager Brendan Rodgers played him as an 8 not a 10 and Christie was playing his best stuff.
