So we sell Van Dijk, don't bring in another CB but do sign another mediocre SPL player in the only position where we have more than enough players. Not liking the way we've conducted our transfer business lately.

See, the thing is, if we were signing guys like this in addition to other players who are actually intended to make a difference now then we likely wouldn't see the reaction we have.

NEW Bhoy Ryan Christie has revealed that joining Celtic is a dream come true.
The talented attacker became Ronny Deila’s seventh signing of the summer after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal today (Tuesday) and he spoke exclusively to Celtic TV to explain his joy at joining the Champions.
Ryan said: “I’m buzzing to be honest. It has been a pretty crazy 24 hours to get it all done and dusted, but to finally put pen to paper is an incredible feeling.
“I was first told at the weekend that there was interest. You never know how much to believe in that but as soon as I was told I had permission to speak to the club I was over the moon and just desperate to get it finished.
“I’ve been a supporter all my life, something I got from my dad. It might sound a bit sad saying it’s a dream come true, but it really is and it will be brilliant to play at a place like Celtic Park.
“My dad has a lot of experience. He’s had his career and he’s pushed me in the right way. When he found out as well he was dead keen for me to sign.
"It’s a chance for me. It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be a challenge but it’s one I want.”
Ryan, 20, will return to Inverness on loan for the remainder of the season but Celtic have the option to recall the forward in January.
The playmaker sees a return to John Hughes' side on a temporary basis as a positive thing and is looking forward to maintaining his fitness and form through game-time with the Caley Jags.
The attacker also sees it as a way for him to shine while waiting for his debut at Celtic and continue to show his new employers what they can expect when he joins permanently.
“Going back on loan to Inverness can help me," he added. "It gives me that wee bit of time to get settled and get ready so that when I come back to Celtic I hit the ground running.
"I know it’s going to be a step up but I have to challenge myself and I wouldn’t have signed if I didn’t think I was up for that challenge.
“It’s game-time and it keeps me fit and it’ll keep me in the best shape I can when I come to Celtic. There are a lot of targets we’re trying to hit at Inverness so that’s my short-term plan.
“John Hughes has been superb. I don’t know if him being an ex-Celtic player has helped but he had a word in my ear before Saturday’s game just to put it at the back of my head but he’s had nothing but support for me since it broke.
"I just can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park for the first time.”

Can't help but feel chuffed for him on a personal level, being a Celtic fan it must be some buzz indeed.

Kind of 50/50 with this signing, see it as a pretty good deal for the future, only 500K not much risk but we really should be signing players that could come in straight away and improve the team.

Must be some feeling getting to play for the team you support.
Always liked him at Caley so hopefully he can do the business here.

Welcome to Celtic Ryan. Now, while you were behind the scenes did you hear anyone say 'Michu' or 'striker'?

Don't understand why folks are down on this. He's cheap, young, already impressive, and full of potential. He might not turn into a difference-maker in Europe, but he could. The midfield is crowded, but Celtic need to take these gambles.

And just because he's in the our league doesn't make him trash. No reason he can't be as successful as some of the other Scottish talent that we've let slip away in recent years (e.g., Robertson, Russell, etc.). Wigan bought McArthur from Hamilton for the same price. And we've nailed it on some transfers in this price range (e.g., Bitton, Wanyama).

Some people are talking about him like he's done developing. He's 20 years old, and he's already the most talented player on a team that finished 3rd last year. Not saying that Inverness are a great side, but it's still impressive for someone of that age.

I agree that it would be nice to buy or sign some more experienced players. But that doesn't make this a poor signing. I think it's a smart move.

Because we always bury these players, they are not ready for the first team and then endup disappearing in the reserves and out the door in a few years. The fact we are sending him back to ICT is testament to that.
