England not a good side let’s be fair, Japan could cause another upset here.

At what point are Japan not going to be considered a team that causes upsets...

Seems like since they beat South Africa a couple of WC back, they've building something. They don't seem to be that bad at the game, albeit they do seem to be a tad reliant points from drop kicks and penalties... they don't seem to be much a team that gets many trys

They are excellent. They are one of the better tier 2 nations, probably themselves and Fiji.

But they haven’t caused an “upset” since beating Scotland and Ireland in 2019. They need to kick on and consider the England loss a disappointment rather than a formality or an upset if they won it.

They get consistently beaten by anyone half decent, they are similar to Scotland against South Africa in game one - they can sustain competition for a good while until their lack of class in comparison with their opponent lets them down eventually.

Going to take better players rather than a mentality shift for them to progress further.

They certainly would be the 2 favourites to emerge World Champions I would agree. It will be interesting to see how the Ireland v South Africa game pans out next weekend.

Most likely that game will effectively become a knock out game with the winner going through to the Quarter-finals.

It is a big one for sure. Winner is done and dusted and into the Quarter-finals with a game to spare. South Africa favourtites but in fairness we have been playing well ourselves so feel we have a shot in this one.

A good day so far, to say the least.

    Georgia - Portugal hugely entertaining.
    England on their way.
And Ireland well on top at half time.

Really, SA should be so far ahead, with 3 missed pens and a failed conversion.

Ire 13-8 SA Huge win for Ireland, over the reigning World Champions.

Think I just heard on the radio they say 16th straight win for Ireland?

Ref decided the result there. Ball was clearly out.

People always praise rugby for the transparency of referee decisions, but there isn’t a more inconsistently refereed sport anywhere.

I don’t even know if Scotland can qualify with SA getting the bonus losing point.

Think we need to beat Ireland with a bonus point for ourselves and none for them. * knows.
