I loved Roy as a player but now I just think he likes hearing the sound of his own voice atm, in his autobiography he said he would never be a pundit and would rather go the dentist and look and the * now:50:
Gary Neville is the best pundit imo:rolleyes:

Nah, he hates everyone. He's always been like that, it's just that we're seeing it more because he's on television and no longer playing.

You could always tell by looking at him that he's an angry, grumpy * of a man. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to cross him in his heyday as a player though, that's for sure.

who gives a * what he thinks........

IF his opinion really mattered he would be on SSB along with other great thinkers of our time like Derek 'High IQ' Johnstone, Hugh Keevins PHuD and Mark 'know it all' Guidi.

I think he has an illness that contributes to his dark character, might be bipolar or some other form of depression I read it in his autobiography, he loves the celtic:50:

He joined Celtic over Juventus and Real Madrid, hating us is the last thing he does.

He is, however, utterly clueless as a pundit and as a manager.

    He hate everything and everyone.
Or he certainly makes it out that way.

But, he does a LOT of charity work for 'helper dogs for the blind', so hes not all bad.

Forster apparently should have done better with the first save of his amazing double save. - Did he really say that ? If so FUD.
In his day he was an excellent player.
What sum's him up best for me, is he walked out on his country at the world cup, who the * would do that.
He just comes across as wanting to be controversial as often as he can and he certainly has some chip on his shoulder.

A perfectionist who goes into every game and every situation with the desire to win?

Do you know why he walked out on Ireland at the World Cup?

For starters, before leaving for the tournament he told his club manager, Alex Ferguson, that he was going to the World Cup with the sole intention of winning it. He wasn't joking when he said that. He wasn't going there to make up the numbers.

Some of the issues he had included the fact that during the flight the Irish players sat in 2nd class whilst the FAI officials sat in 1st class, and that he deemed the preparations put into place by McCarthy and the FAI to be less than professional (I remember him mentioning in his book that before a qualifier the team were given cheese sandwiches to eat pre-game because the management had forgotten to sort out proper food, such as pasta etc).

It all started with the trip to Saipan ahead of the World Cup, which McCarthy and the FAI regarded as a time for relaxation.

Keane believed it should have been used as time to prepare for the World Cup. Teams who believe they can win the tournament don't look on the preparation period as a holiday it would seem.

Was he over the top? Probably. I'll tell you what though, I'd certainly be more than happy to see someone with that kind of commitment to the cause line up for my club & country every weekend.

Players like him are a rare breed. That's why, despite the odd red mist situation, you'll never hear me be critical of Scott Brown. Yeah, he's stupid sometimes, but I'm always happy when I see his name on the team sheet.

You know how you get those people who want to sound controversial and suchlike? He isn't one of them.

He is controversial. He's the guy that the attention-seekers are trying to emulate.

You know fine well that if ITV management told him to tone it down, or asked him to stop contradicting his fellow pundits he'd tell them to f*ck off and walk out rather than change his style.

    * manager, and walked away from his Country on the biggest stage of them all. Whatever his reasons for doing so, I thought it was the wrong choice. I personally think he is a complete * in all honesty.

Yep I was aware of the reason's he walked , however he walked and left his team/country and that sum's him up for me.
If we go with the total perfectionist regarding all football team's, then we aint gonna get to watch a * of a lot of football really are we, as something will always be imperfect somehow. So a total pro would make the best and get on with it. Was the reason he walked not more to do with the fact he wanted to * over Mick ?

Sums him up in what way though? As a quitter? As someone with a history of throwing his toys out of the pram when things aren't going his way?

    What do you mean?

Come on, it's hardly as though he went mental because the hotel toilet seats weren't heated, was it? The examples above are good reasons to suspect that the Irish FA were looking at the World Cup as a chance for an all expenses paid holiday.

I mean, not even having decent grub available to the players before a world cup qualifier? That's as far from professional as it can get.

99% of players at that level were happy to accept it, because they were "only" Ireland, and they didn't expect to accomplish much at the world cup.

Roy Keane was the captain of one of the biggest teams in the world though, and obviously his expectation levels would be similar to other players of his stature.

Could you imagine the reaction if the Spanish, Italian, Brazilian or English team were made to travel 2nd class whilst the FA suits were in 1st? If any of those teams were told that proper food wasn't available before an important qualifier because the management "forgot" to sort it and were handed cheese sandwiches?

    There'd be * uproar.

You think he'd be happy to forego a tournament that he had put so much effort into reaching just to "get one over" on Mick McCarthy? Seriously?

I dont know, that was why I asked the question. It would appear he was prepared to forgo it though, because he decided that as they didn't get a "big enough seat" and "some cheese pieces only" , so maybe he did, as I said though, I don't know.
I can only base it on what I would do, and I would in order to play for my country, crawl over broken glass.

He doesn't hate us. Other top clubs will be looking at his post match analysis and add him to the short list for future jobs.

Hes a very, very smart man IMO.

For himself rather than his country. Also a little deluded to put it mildly.

He more often than not speaks * when doing his pundit. Comes across as narky and snide. I'm not sure why tv companies hire him tbh.

Great player though, and he does not hate us. The very opposite in fact.

I couldn't care less if he hates us but I certainly hate him. He's a thuggish * and was a pleasingly inept manager.

I've met a * of a lot of fans exactly like him to be honest, so harsh on the team they support it's just unrealistic. Charlie Nicholas is similar.

Who gives a * what Keane thinks.. He was a great player, but He's also a * of a man and his mind set is purely focused on himself.

He won't ever become anything as a manager and won't get anywhere near a job at Celtic.
