    Keane expects to leave Man Utd

    Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld has urged Celtic to move for Roy Keane after the Manchester United captain admitted he could leave Old Trafford in the summer.

    The Republic of Ireland midfielder's contract expire at the end of the season and told MUTV that staying in England does not interest him.

    And Auld said: "I saw him at the Uefa Cup final in Seville two years ago, where he was supporting Celtic.

    "The likes of someone like Roy Keane and his ability would be a big asset."

    Keane has admitted previously that he would like to finish his career with Celtic.

    "He is a leader on the park and is respected by his fellow professionals, which is very important," said Auld.

    "For anyone with his credentials to come to Celtic must be good for us. "We are bringing in a lot of young players at the moment and he would be an ideal leader. "If youngsters see a player with his quality and passion, it can only rub off on them."

    best news i've heard in ages, if we signed him he would walk straight into the team and cya later lennon. We all can't deny that we need a natural leader at the moment.     exactly my point, the fella obviously feels celtic are only good enough for him when he's 35, and we dont need that at our club. never did like his attitude towards celtic - dont want him here.

    Roy Keane is not Not NOt NOT good enough for the hoops. Once he could have been but now he is past it, I bet Mourinho wouldn't give him a game. I think Bertie should update his thinking. It is kinda sad to see a former "great" try to devalue the game by taking handouts which is what it would be if he comes to Parkhead and then the money men will have something to answer for coz he wont have any sell on value. And don't forget if what we read in the papers can be believed (??????) didn't he encourage Miller to go south?

    As much as i admire Roy Keane and rate him as one of the best players Manchester United has had in the past decade, i don't think at this late stage in his career he is really what we need, i think if he took a massive pay cut then perhaps he could contribute to the team but i think we need to be actively searching for replacements for Lennon, Sutton and Thompson as they're the players who are getting on in the years and where money would be better spent.

    I would prefer they sign Robbie Keane than Roy Keane to be honest.
