Yeah I would say there is some truth in this story. Apparently he will be signed and fit to play in the New Year until the end of the season where there is the possibility of an extension.

Celtic to complete move for Keane

Roy Keane will sign for Celtic - and should complete his free transfer move this week, BBC Scotland understands. It is believed that a portion of the 34-year-old's salary will be paid directly by the Parkhead club's major shareholder Dermot Desmond.
Former Republic of Ireland captain Keane has been much in demand since leaving Manchester United in November.
Celtic have so far refused to comment on the story, but it is understood that the deal is set to go through.
Spanish giants Real Madrid were said to be the front-runners for Keane's signature but president Florentino Perez was not prepared to move until January.
Premiership duo Bolton and Everton had approached Keane, while West Brom and West Ham were among other clubs to express their interest.
Keane has said in the past that he would like to end his career at Celtic Park but chairman Brian Quinn had expressed concern about the level of the player's wages.
That issue would appear to have been resolved with the aid of Desmond's financial contribution.
Keane is not eligible to play until the winter transfer window opens, so the first match he could feature in would be the 1 January visit to Hearts.

The Sunday World (Irish Newspaper), i think it was them, said that the weekend after Keane quit Trafford, seems the most logical thing to happen if Celtic do capture him.

Well done DD, yer doing something useful:celt_2:

It also gives him time to get settled and fit for the 2nd half of the season

It's disappointing that it takes Roy Keane to squeeze out the extra money.

Was watching Scotland Today there and it says sources from inside Celtic say that the deal has been done. They're just waiting to announce it.

I keep refreshing the Celtic website to see if it comes up anything. :50:

clearly - keane has opted for 2nd best.. he wasnt going to get the deal he wanted at madrid, therefore he decide to go to celtc..

Whos to say he didnt do the medical for madrid over the weekend - as reported.. and failed it.. and due to a confidentially clause - they cant report it... and have opted out for that reason..

plus the fact that mr desmond is paying half of his wages... shows how big of a celtic fan is really is.

i bet mr desmond doesnt pay for half of petrov's wages - resulting on him leaving the club... taking 10 youth years with him.. and commitment.

instead we will get a 35 year old with knee problems... and a temper. :37:

Watched the sport on BBC Scotland there and it said he's in Glasgow undergoing a scan on his knee.

It showed a clip of a guy getting keane on his celtic top.

I said that his debut game should be the new years day game against hearts at tynecastle.

I believe any1 dropped for Keane would be extremely hard done by. I would'nt mind him here but the guy brings some baggage with him. But who knows if the deal will go through anyhow. that * Rahman was reproting it for Scotland today and i don't beleive a wortd him or that Jane bird say.

If Roy Keane comes to Celtic (which I hope he does) I think he must prove himself as a player here because nobody cares what he has done in the past. He cant just come here and take it easy if he comes to celtic he must perform

I really hope he signs, but if he does sign then he would have to fight for his place like everyone else but i think he would be a great player for us and i would love to see him here :50:

He also says he's having the scan on his knee right now!
A couple of the things that disturb me about Keane is him and his Man Utd teammates chasing the referee, his tackle plus afters on that boy from Man City(Alf something or other).Do we really want that sort of stuff at Celtic.
The more I think about him the more I don't like this move(and no, I only support Celtic)
