I can't believe there is so many fans on here saying that is a red. Never a red in a million years

I see what you're saying mate but it was silly and considering the area of the pitch where he made the tackle, it was not needed at all.

If what had happened before the card hadn't have happened Broony probably wouldn't even have made the challenge

I genuinely think the co-commentator's initial reaction has a huge bearing on what people think.

There was no need for Brown's tackle. It was born out of frustration.

When there's enough Celtic fans saying it was red, you know it's a no brainier for a Hun ref!

    It's a tackle from behind. It's a clear red.

Penalty was ridiculous, doesn't need any comment. I don't think BR's comment about blatant cheating was only directed at the Ross County player (and quite rightly not), but he's worded it quite cleverly.

Even Brown's sticks in the throat TBH. I think in a European match, that's a red all day long and no complaints (we all know it was deliberate retribution); but in Scotland it galls a bit TBH, given the tackles that it seems to be OK to make on our players. If there were any consistency, either it would be a yellow for our players in Scotland or our players would get the protection the laws of the game are supposed to give them.

But then if the laws were applied properly, Brown wouldn't need to seek retribution in the first place.
    It's total bullshit TBH.

You only have to look at this forum(a Celtic forum at that) to see that opinion is split over whether Brown's tackle was a red card or not. It's obviously not a black & white case of he shouldn't have been sent off. On another day he might have got away with a yellow but today he got a red. I don't feel I can justifiably complain too much about it. It was a stupid challenge, even more so if he misses next week because of it.

That's a fair comment. I'm still not surprised it was a red card though.

Well I can't argue with that. I still feel it was a stupid challenge for Broony to make though. We all know we has that in his locker but with next week coming up he should have had the wit to not dive in like that. He's going to be a big miss if he can't play.

If Brown is to blame for the ref cheating and giving a red that wasn't, is Erik culpable for the penalty being awarded aswell then?

It was certainly ill judged. One thing I did find interesting was Barry Robson's view on it as that was exactly the sort of challenge I would expect him to make when he gets frustrated.

At the angle Brown comes in, it is from the side mate. I always look at, if i would be shouting for red or yellow if it was our player. I would have been looking for a yellow if against our player
