I thought Hayes looked a bit nervous tonight, that's understandable tbh, wearing the Celtic jersey carries a lot of pressure, he'll be good for us :50:

Brilliant bar to watch the game. Glad you enjoyed it.

Did they charge you on the way in?

First time I went to Orlando it was free, next time they asked for a tenner. I just laughed at them but they came into the bar and asked me to pay up. :giggle1:

I agree mate, probably outside Celtic he was the spl best player last season, a lot of people
agree mate, probably out side Celtic he was the best player in the spl last season and people's argument is " if he's good with the sheep he will be even better with us ", but it's a lot easier to shine at a team like Aberdeen than it is at Celtic, Ryan Christie and niall mcginn were probably 2 of Aberdeen s best players last season but couldn't break into a Celtic team and wouldn't surprise me if wee GMS is a main man for them as well this season

Fantastic result for us under difficult circumstances; really demonstrates the composure and professionalism of the team under Brendan. To illustrate how difficult this tie was for us, the FFA Cup is currently being held in Australia. It's Australia's version of the Scottish Cup. Like us, the professional teams are still in pre-season, while the semi-professional state league teams are coming towards the end of their seasons. On Tuesday night here, Heidelberg Utd defeated the professional A-League Perth Glory team 1-0, and looked the better team throughout the match. Last night, Blacktown City defeated the A-League's Central Coast Mariners 3-2. Both games were taken very seriously by the A-League teams. In the corresponding fixture last year, the Mariners lost and their manager lost his job. It just shows how difficult the Rosenborg tie was for us. It's a really tremendous achievement by Brendan and the Bhoys. HH

I think that's thanks to some shrewd and clever management last season. BR knows that Roberts is a better player than Forrest (I like Forrest, but Roberts is a level above), but was also aware he wasn't our player and so he looked after our own interests first by playing Forrest ahead of Paddy for a fair chunk of the season. He played an absolute blinder in keeping Forrest in the first-team, looking after his morale and confidence. Now Forrest is still above Hayes in the pecking order which will keep Hayes on his toes.

He was doing that for the full 90 minutes, knew the camera would be on him at one point.

The guy behind him thinks he's at a Tiesto gig

    Turgid 1st half, a re-run of the 1st leg in a 45-minute period.

Ingebrigtsen claimed post-match that his players shown us “too much respect in the 1st half tonight”. Well to be honest, he set the team out in that manner and can share that responsibility. We had a dodgy 10 minutes in the 2nd half, even then the only threat on our goal was the Jensen shot from just outside the area.

Eventually just before the hour, Rosenborg were pressing much higher up the field, the space and the defenders who had been well protected for the majority of the tie, were now being exposed. Sinclair came close to bursting through, only to be beaten to the loose ball by the covering left-back (Meling, I think). Minutes later he did get the ball, had the space and time to play in Forrest. Looked like a poor 1st touch before finishing high at the near post. Question marks over the goalkeeper on that. Forrest passed up another glorious opportunity when he cut in on his weaker foot when 1 v1 with the goalkeeper. Not quite sure why he chose that option.

Rosenborg had to open up and chase the goals. And we picked them off and utilised the space to good effect. Even with Rosenborg being more attack-minded, it was all relatively comfortable for our defence. Indeed, swinging ball high into the area is the “food and drink” for Jozo. Much credit also to Bitton tonight. Stepped into an unusual role and performed well, kept it simple after a couple of poor decisions early on. Very good use of the ball from the back, took the ball under pressure and made passes to get us forward.

As well as the spaces opening up, when Griffiths came on we had a point of attack to play from. Gave us something to play from and something new for Rosenborg defenders to worry about.

Rosenborg’s best chance of qualifying would have been to play the 4-1-4-1 for 180 minutes. Passing up the 2 good chances in the 1st leg, left them having to at some point leave the comfort zone of that formation. As soon as that happened, they looked so vulnerable.

We still have a few more levels of performance to go. Our passing was laboured at times in the attacking areas, although it’s understandable given the tactics of the opponent and the early stage of the season. Even still, you could see that Sinclair and KT combination was beginning to pick up. Was our primary source going forward 1st half. Armstrong looked off the pace and bar one run which led to a Forrest chance 1st half, he was never influential enough for my liking. KT was class all night. Lustig passed up 2 good opportunities but defended well. Gordon not much to do but his influence was in the 1st leg. Team worked hard tonight, pressed well and made it uncomfortable for Rosenborg. Never gave them a minute’s peace all night.

I’m confident of qualification. This team is completely different from last year, better quality, better understanding, better mentality and 12 months of success behind them. Tonight, was another test in which they passed. Unbeaten away from home in competitive games since the 7-0 pumping at Barcelona.

    Some achievement.

I'm away to watch the game again.

Was shiteing it like mad before the match, was in 2 minds as we have put in crap away performances but Rodgers really does give you the belief.

Nervousness was quickly quelled because man they are an awful advert for football, imagine watching a home team do that, I know we have set up against teams defensively ourselves but * sake even SPFL teams arent that bad.

Even during their little spell out the blocks in 2nd half I genuinely wasnt worried, we were so much better than last week and just knew we would go on to win it.

Hate pointing out flaws but Lustigs been poor over the 2 legs, pre season though isnt it, another heart attack 180 mins to come ha

Commentary was painfull, negative, fearful, un-educated pish. Rosenborg enjoyed 2-3 minutes of solid possession at the start of the second half for first time in the game and it was Celtic on the rocks all of a sudden. Hun tools. Premier sports is dross, no after match... couldn't wait to get off the air.

Thank * that's over, so relieved.

Well done Forrest dug us out a hole, I said I wasn't confident in him getting us a goal due to his scoring record in Europe but fair play was a cracking finish that no GK in the WORLD would have stopped.

Onward and upwards, looking at who we can face next round I'd take Rijeka, Qarabag and Slavia Prague and in that order. Really want to avoid Astana and HBS.

Tbh they are well above anything in spl apart from us ,and they are midway through their league ,for us to match and best their fitness level and best them on their own patch is no mean feat ,so well done Celtic ,they had a sytem we are used to playing against ,but only thing that stopped us was out match sharpness at parkhead, when the pressed us high at start of the second it caught us out a wee bit ,we adjusted and wen we scored we were many levels above rosenbourg in style and passing ,in another 5 games those 2 other chances go in .
