But that's the thing......there was NO booing during it - infact, you'd need to invent an actual point were Celtic fans who are against the whole Remembrance Day stuff have actually BOOED any minutes silence.

Most disputes have 2 sides with a third 'side' choosing to take no part for different reasons. Personally I bought poppies in remembrance for the war dead, if people want to include recent wars that's up to them.

My main issue with the whole poppy appeal is in the name of the * idiot that set it all up ,although they have distanced him from it now. Earl haig was a general who suffered some of the heaviest losses incurred in ww1 due to his sheer * mindedness and stupidity in continuing to attack a front line that had not been destroyed by shelling for over a week.(wave after wave charged/walked into machine guns about 20,000 in a day if I remember correctly).
Following orders like that earns my respect to those men. Who were from many different countries.

Did they have much choice? The hope a breakthrough and hence the chance to live or shot as a coward if they refused to go.

Yea that's true, so I will have no respect for them after all fs man.
See when I said both sides are as bad, its as much to do with the pettiness that's what annoys me as much as anything else.

Whats the problem? I stated a fact. You cannot airbrush history to suit agendas. Would you label all WW1 historians petty or as bad as the poppy fascists for stating facts that do not go along with "the truth".

    From Wiki

Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth as a day "to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts".

    From the British Legion website

Remembrance Sunday, which falls on 8 November in 2015, is a day for the nation to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.

    From the BBC

The Queen has led tributes to the UK's war dead at the annual Remembrance Sunday service in central London. Thousands gathered at the Cenotaph memorial in Whitehall for a two-minute silence to honour those killed in World Wars One and Two and later conflicts.

The pettiness is the problem. I was speaking in general , which I obviously should not have assumed would be understood, those soldiers followed an order and yes there was obviously some who refused it.
Its certainly not me who is following an agenda here.
As for the bolded part what exactly do you mean ?

You aren't going to get much respect for a lot of the later conflicts.

And it's set in stone. It's not the average joe shoehorning in later conflicts. It's now in the narrative for Remembrance month/6/7/8 weeks.

I never said people should or shouldn't, I specifically said my reasons for it and went on to say IF people add later conflicts into it that was up to them.
It was very plainly worded hence me asking 'And'

However this does prove a point, they are all as bad as each other IF someone's opinion doesn't match their opinion they try and have a go , while both prattle on about free speech :52:

Every yr it's just the same, the papers spout the same * and and TV are just desperate to hear noise so they can have a go,it the same with the huns a few yrs ago who were more interested in the celtic fans than actual observing a minutes silence themselves. It's time to make it an applause and that way they'll have * all to criticise us with or celtic refuse to play live that weekend, the whole pandering to huns * annoys the * out me,* are right wing * loving * one week then the next theyre more British than the rest.

I posted a fact recorded by historians and your responce
"See when I said both sides are as bad, its as much to do with the pettiness that's what annoys me as much as anything else."

Should those who were executed because they refused to march to their death not be honoured as well? I am sure when they volunteered(which many would have) they did not know they were going to be sent to their death without a fighting chance.

This isn't just about us either.

Jon Snow, James McLean, Sienna Miller (even though she wasn't taking a stand)

It's getting out of control now.

Go back and read it , am sure it will make sense.
As for the bolded part, is that in the way that you epitomise being what a Celtic fan is.

Aye seems you are not the only one who has 'jumped', still its nice to be popular mate :86:
