Could be wrong but my take on it was that the minute's silence was observed by the vast majority of both fans & the shouts were from fans coming into the ground which quickly died down. The booing came at the END of the minutes silence from the easily offended.

Now everyone is on the 'they booed the silence' bandwagon. Total & utter pish. Can't win in these situations the poppy police are out in force when we're playing & doesn't matter what we do the cretins in the media in this neck of the woods are just waiting to stoke it up even when there's no story there.

He has absolutely no right to comment on what the fans feel about rememberance sunday. He clearly doesn't know his history and should concentrate on sorting that * back line out before he worries about our politics. He is a Norweigan who is here to manage the football team , we the fans will be here long after you Ronny so don't try and pass judgement on our ideologies.

    Wound me right up.

Nah? Well you have no right to have an opinion on Remembrance Sunday or the Poppy issue either.

There isn't one rule for one and one rule for another. He thinks it's disappointing some people ruined a minutes silence - that's his prerogative.

Just watched the Youtube clip. * me. What a fuss about nothing. A handful of people at most outside the ground making a bit of a noise. The vast majority of people seem to have observed the minute's silence without any bother at all. Anybody who seeks to make a meal out of that is a muck raking * or they are someone who already harbours an agenda against Celtic and/or Celtic fans.

He shouldn't be publicly passing comment on it , he is a football manager and should have told the journo to stick to footballing questions ( plenty of other managers do ). It's a sensitive and emotional subject for plenty of our fans and he , as an outsider , should not be publicly lambasting that element of our support when i doubt he understands the motive or has even attempted to . Like i said , would have been wise to keep himself professional and stick to footballing matters.

So he shouldn't publically pass comment on it but there's no issue with supporters shouting over a minutes silence publically?

    Give me a break :56:

Think the point he is making is that Ronny is in a position where the media will focus on his sound bites. He can have opinions all day but don't feed the medias fire. His point is valid actually. And who gives a * about Joe Publics opinion on the Internet.:50:

No he shouldn't pass comment on it because he is the Celtic football manager and has no business talking about politics . Unwise from him as he should
know better than to give this country's media that type of ammunition.

thats * rich, whether we like it or not celtic is perhaps the most politicised football club in the world alongside rangers and barcelona. Check your fellas forum signatures and constant commenting, its rarely only a football matter, why the manager cannot comment?

oh, yes, I know why, because you disagree with his point

There was about 4 posts in here when I went to bed. Woke up a few hours later to find it had jumped 6 pages and lo and behold it's because of our new wee pal Legionnaire, the guy who calls Muslims ragheads, wants Paolo Di Canio as manager and now supports the British Army.

You're a dinosaur. Do you support all British invasions? Iraq? Ireland?

for me as an englishman who abhors wars I can make the distinction, a marginal one Id admit, between the * that its our government (and most governments) and the brave individuals who gave their life, perhaps misguidingly in some wars, but in others like WW II for the better of most of us. I cannot in good conscience disrespect those brave people and their families

if they said the remembrance is only about the irish or the iraq war, then by all means Id join anyone in disrespecting that, but as long as that includes "decent" (all wars are indecent but I dont know how else to put it) wars like WWI and particularly WW II, I say those people deserve recognition and even one * minute of silence from our time, doesnt seem too much to ask to be fair

It was James raised the poppy issue. I am sure he would have been happier and had an easier ride if politics were kept out of football.

he was the one who repeteadly used football to make a political point, for the record the few ones who booed him saturday at OT were morons, and were few to be fair, but its all of his own cause

Generally I go against the grain in most issues, when Im in agreement with the majority I have a word with myself, but in this you've got to be consistent. If a guy like Delia is not allowed to have a simple opinion, not even a gesture, but james mclean can turn his back to the flag and anthem and not wear a poppy like the rest while being paid by an english team, then theres so many double standards you'd be an hypocrite to deny it

and if you want to leave politics out of football how many celtic fans would remain so? a lot of you follow celtic because it symbolises a cause, a movement. its not about simply football, dont fool yourself

    I never called you a hun? :43:

Yes, using the word "raghead" to describe any Muslim is extremely offensive.
