Shocking penalty, even though the keeper was 3 yards off his line when he hit it.

    No composure whatsoever

Any suporter could come on and boot it down the middle.

    You either.
put it in the left corner
put it in the right corner

    End of

I'm never a fan of a player putting a penalty down the middle unless it is during a shootout and it isn't someone who'd normally take penalties. Even if you do put one down the middle you don't do it three times in a row. That's basic homework for the opposition scouts.

A first choice taker at a club like Celtic should be placing them in the corner where the keeper has no chance.

I'm surprised that with so many dead ball experts, we don't have someone better. But we haven't really for years.

Just read....that's the 2nd penalty he's missed his entire career.

I'd STILL have him hit every single penalty for us.

If you hit a penalty straight down the middle, off the ground with pace, no keeper will save it ! How many keepers do you see stay stood up ? They all dive one way or the other ! Robson didn't get it off the ground and it was not straight , he dragged it a bit. But i agree , he should not do it routinely. What i fail to believe , is that we have a guy (Naka) who can put the ball over a wall into the top corner from 35 yards out and he doesn't take penalties ? Robson was obviously not watching the keeper or he could have opened his foot and rolled it into the other corner.

I don't think you should change your mind once you step up to take it.

I think penalty taking is more about bottle than anything else. All strikers and midfielders should be able to kick the ball repeatedly off the post from 12 yards but there is so much pressure on you when you take a penalty tat it makes it different. Remember Baggio in 94? If you don't fancy taking a penalty then you shouldn't take it, i guess that is why Naka doesn't.

You've got to vary your penalties if you take them regularly or you'll get found out.

He also hit the winning penalty against the huns straight down the middle playing for Utd.

The irony is that the keeper dived to his left and saved it with his feet last night.

I'm amazed that keepers don't do their homework on penalty takers.
