Semantics is the correct word to use. I'd still call both of them strikers. They score more goals than anyone.

There's certainly nothing wrong with calling them strikers, I just think it belies their actual role because both are so multi-faceted.

Ronaldo is a left winger. Same position as Ribery, Reus etc. Messi you could argue is a striker but he begins play far too deep to be considered an out and out striker. He plays anywhere around the pitch really.

Ronaldo plays upfront for Real. He used to be a winger. He's more what you would call an inside forward now to be honest.

Messi also doesn't have a free role, he is in the middle of a front three. He just plays the role different than traditional strikers.

He's had far more than one good game.

Anyone who watches German football (not that many, although people like to claim they do with the emergence of Bayern and Dortmund as being up there with the best in Europe) knows how good he's been the past 2 seasons.

I don't have a preference to one specific Bundesliga team however it would be a shame if he left Dortmund to join Bayern.

He's a great striker although he seems to miss a lot of good chances. At least in the few games I've seen him play. He's definitely up there with the likes of cavani, falcao and suarez though.

Aye maybe. He's not as deadly in front of goal as falcao etc.

Falcao, Canavi and Suarez are all older and more developed than him.

He lost possession due to a poor first touch 83 times this season.

i think he is on that level simply because his all around game is better than any of those mentioned other than Suarez. He is very similar to Suarez imo, both miss a decent amount of good chances(although Suarez misses more) and both are very good on the ball. I don't watch much of the Seria A so I can't really comment on Cavani but I would say Lewandowski's overall game puts him on the same level as suarez and falcao.

    Cavani is Falcao's match.
