25m is far too much for someone with a year left on his contract. I can`t see Bayern paying that kinda money. Might see him end up at Madrid with Higuain looking like he will be sold

I know he's a good player but there's something about him that tells me he will never be any better than what he is and I won't be suprised if he has a * season next year

I agree, but his quality has been evident since he started tearing up the Europa League with Atletico.

A fair few transfer windows have passed since then. Chelsea have been linked with him a few times but have seemingly never made an offer.

He was tearing up the Europa League with Porto as well.

It's a shame Dortmund don't hold their nerve, not as if they need the cash with the extra Champions League revenue coming in thanks to the final.

Dortmund should not be feeling the need to sell their best players to any other club, especially their * title rivals.

They are in the CL final and play some of the best and most attractive football in Europe at the moment. Not to mention the * load of cash that they will have made with this CL run alone, before you take into consideration the money that they get from 80,000 paying fans every couple of weeks.

The players agent will no doubt be trying to hold the club to ransom behind the scenes, promising all sorts of grief if they don't give him his 'dream' move to Bayern.

Dortmund should stand strong and have a bit of conviction about them.

I wouldn't say ovverated, he is a formerly underrated player that experienced a huge profile boost due to a crazy performance in a crucial match.

He's on par with any striker in his age bracket.

I don't think comparisons can be drawn to the Neymar situation, he gets media attention for different reasons.

Lewandowski is not considered the 'bright hope' of an entire continent in the same manner that Neymar is.

The interest shown in him is not purely for one game. He has got 53 goals in 94 games fro Dortmund. There is no doubt that his performance against Madrid made people speak a bit more about him, but to say it's down to one game is a bit off the mark. It's only natural that a players stock will rise if they bag 4 goals in one game, at the Semi Final stage of Europe's biggest club competition. But he was being linked with top clubs prior to it.

Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world easily. I'd say only Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Cavani and Suarez are definitely better

I don't understand why people don't count Messi and Ronaldo as strikers, they both play up front.

Lewandowski's reputation isn't just based on the Madrid game. He's not a flash in the pan striker.

It's a semantics issue really, both Messi and Ronaldo are forwards, all strikers are forwards, but not all forwards are strikers.

Ronaldo is a winger, strictly speaking, but the term is a bit limited because he cuts inside so much.

Messi drops far deeper than a conventional striker would ever dream of doing, because that is the unique role he has.

Some people use striker as a catch all term for every forward, but many use it strictly in relation to conventional number 9's.

Ronaldo doesn't play up front, and Messi really has a free role.
