Don't think he would cost 6m tbh. He's a year older, had a * season and Spurs just want rid.

A lot of people are slating him saying not a true fan etc because he never signed for us this summer. Do you really think Lenny made a bid for him ?? I doubt it...

Would only take him if he matches the highest earner at the club and no more.

We signed him last year, when no one thought he would ever realistically come up here and play in Scotland. It's only natural that some people will think that we can get him for a second time, only this time on a longer, permanent contract. You seen the reception he got at Celtic Park the night he came up here and was paraded.

It's not entirely unrealistic to assume he might want to come back to us, although I do admit it seems a bit of a long shot from where I'm sitting.

if this were any other player people would be saying no as he is 31 and has had trouble in the EPL this year. I'd take Hooper and maybe even Stokes (though I don't consider him mainly a poacher) over him in the goal-poacher role as they have more upside.

    Good luck Keano

    When Long was what 18?

+ Ireland were screwed out of a fair shot at the World Cup (not that they definitely would have won in extra time or on PKs)

I'd still take him but we're linked with him every window so highly unlikely shame he signed last season when the league was gone

    My thoughts:
    1. If he signs with Celtic it would be a GREAT move. He would be very worth it for SPL football. I have no doubts he would have success here. Yes I believe that 6-8 million is a high coast, but there is no way spurs can still ask that for him after you add in last season and his age. If Celtic can get him for under 5mil I think it would be crazy to pass that up.

    2. People here forget that football at the end of the day is a business. Just because Keane left last season doesn't mean that he didn't like or even love playing for Celtic. He knew he only had a few more seasons to earn that much money. Remember that the money he makes now has to support him and his family for pretty much the rest of his life. How many of you could afford to retire at 30 and take on a job that pays far less then the one you had?

Bottom line: If Celtic can get Keane at the right price it would be a great move for both parties. If Keane can sign somewhere else and still make the amount he gets at Spurs, than good for him. I would love to see him back though.

(Side note: I would love to see him in MLS as well, but I agree with the article that it would most likely be the last signing of his career. It is not easy to come back to Europe after playing MLS...just ask Freddy).

Stokes, Hooper and Keane as strikers would ensure we've top quality strikers at all times, plus Keane doesnt miss penaltys...a problem we've had this season..maybe 4 or 5 penno misses that i can think of (stokes *2, hooper and Samaras)

    pretty much agree on everything....

if he's available at a reasonable price and reasonable wages we should definitely go for him....

if not, then no problem...however we should find a striker of his quality and experience...i remember his finishing when he was here and his link up play...it was just so easy for him,top class...

You guys are blind!! Keane is a leader. Something that every club needs in the dressing room and on the pitch. His movement is far greater than SPL standard and he would run a mock just like we seen last time (when we had a team that wasn't even playing well!!)

    KEANO, KEANO!!
