I aint been on much over Christmas/New Year but just want to say I, like everyone else was totaly shocked by what happend to Phil.

Thaught really have to be with his family, such a tragic thing to happen anytime, but for such a young family after christmas thismust be just devistating.

Cancelling all football matches in Scotland was the right thing do to, after all, its just a game and the loss of a life is, well you cant even compare hoe important that is to a football game. It was also good to see respectes beinbg made to Phil in the English Premiarship, so well done to the EPL, the clubs down there and the fans.

    RIP Phill O'Donnel :shamrock:

Still can't believe it.Met him a couple of times over the years.Just an absolute gentleman, shy as anything and proud as punch to have played for Celtic.Went up to Fir Park yesterday just to leave something small and you get a small sense of the devestation his family must feel...
    You'll be sorely missed Phil

Have got over the initial shock and am thinking back to the good times he gave us. At his peak in TB's and Wim's teams he was really highly thought of as a player. You forget just how much his recovery from his various injuries was anticipated. I remember us all waiting and then he came back and scored the winner from 1 inch on his comeback game we won 1-0 against...think it was Aberdeen. Phil played a brilliant game of two in Old Frim matches in TB's team. I remember , I think it was a 0-0 when he hit the post.

Yes I remember very well that 0-0 game and O'Donnell was sensational that day. He always was one our better players in that 94-98 period when he was fit which sadly wasn't as much as we would have liked. But certainly he palyed his part in the 95 Cup win and the 98 title win. Always came over as a class guy on and off the field.

much appreciated. Respect:50: And I must say I always really liked Davie Cooper and was really sad when he was struck down. Best individual balls skills of his time in Scotland. He and Strachan were Scotland's finest wingers of their generation. Although he was later our assistant manager, at the time I never understood why Robbie Coltrane lookalike and pie expert John Robertson used to get picked ahead of him.

It has took me this long to come on here and express my shock and sadness at the death of Phil O'Donnell simply for those reasons. Shock and sadness.:54:I am only now beginning to take it in. Such a tragedy.

My thoughts are with his wife and four kids , * knows what they must be going through right now. The wife and i went up to firpark and i was overwhelmed by all the tributes. The pictures on the news dont do it justice as there is a vast amount of sympathy notes and football strips and scarves and a special mention must go to the rangers fans that have put football 2nd and laid gers strips with thoughts for the family.

There are some sound bluenoses out there, of course there are, but i had to whack some clown ootside the bookies yesterday as i was talkin to a friend i'd just met about the tragic event of Phil passing away at such a young age when (i'll keep his name to myself as i dont want him murdered) this guy comes out and over hears us and starts saying stuff like " ha-*-ha Phil O'Donnell thats 1 each after davie cooper two's up * *" and words to that effect:47: My mate said he was being an * and he said "aye it wisnae that when Coop died aw you tims laughin away" to which i replied "naw mate your wrong very * wrong , Davie Cooper was a legend and a scottish legend and when he died i had nothing but sadness and again shock at having lost an immense footballing talent at such a young age" and when he tried to argue with me about some * like "aw you tims are the same - bitter *" i would have laughed at this comment under different circumstances as we all know what half of glasgow has the bitter * in it! But when i tried to tell him " hey wait a minute this guy has left a wife and 4 kids it disnae matter what side he's on show a bit of respect" and he said "* them an aw * *":47: well i lost the place and stuck the heid on him followed by a right hook which, unfortunatley, only skiffed his ear as my pal was pullin me away tellin me he isnt worth gettin the jail for. Thank * for friends cos i could have killed the * i was in such a rage. What is Wrong with these people folks ??? Are they born stupid or is it bred into them???

Sorry bout that i only came on to express my sadness at Phil passing away.
As some poster wrote earlier Davie Cooper will take you under his wing.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole O'Donnell clan:54:

    Rest in Peace Phil
You truly were one of a kind:shamrock:

was looking at Davie Cooper's Wikipedia entry there. Didnt realise he is buried in the same cemetery (Bent cemetery in Hamilton) that Phil was buried in yesterday. That is a very odd coincidence.

Sad bloke but it must be a punbishment in itself having to live with a tiny and twisted brain like that. The parents of people brought up with those values ought to be thrown in jail.

I've waited a wee while to make this post.

All you diddies who come on here saying stupid things such as 'football is more important than life or death' and who were retarded enough to vote that way in a poll should have a good look at yourself.

Any clown still think that football is more important than life or death ?
