I'd leave too if I was rich and getting taxed that highly. RIP Chavez.

Very generalist comment from the Mexican chap there.

Would like to assume people do not make such easy assumptions. Chavez is the topic because he sadly passed. If we wanted to talk about the aforementioned I am sure a thread about them would pop up somewhere or has in the past.

Hate this type of assumption made. This is the age of airplanes, internet and very fast media. People in Europe do know what happens in South America, and maybe, just maybe even some have been there.

Not knowing the identity of the person in the middle of the picture, I asked the question. I apologise if I don't know what people who died in 19th and early 20th century latin America all looked like. The next time I post on people who died a hundred years back, I'll run some images past you to confirm who they are first.

As for your friends from Venezuela, it must really stick in their craw that they can't rape the Venezuelan economy any more! It so happens that the people whom Chavez cared about are mourning his death. Not the elite, but the people.

If you can't come into a thread about the death of a man revered by many, and at least be civil, you shouldn't post at all.

There are a lot of Mexicans in the USA/US citizens of Mexican heritage => a lot of people who're probably bilingual in English and Spanish (at least).

Besides, nothing stops anyone from taking time to check their spelling and grammar, or even from being fluent in a foreign language in the first place.

Too good to be from the dark side. It would be in crayon if it was one of them.

    +1.

Well, if we don't know how they look like, it doesn't mean we don't know anything about them. After all, I had to learn about it in 7th grade in the Primary school, not too much, but we learned about them and, I admit I saw their faces in the court rooms when my cousin watched telenovelas.:56:
Still,my friend post that image on fb and he took it from some other page where it was written "Bolivar".

And I am sorry if MexiCelt's national feelings were hurt, but he could say it nice. After all, there are people who don't know how people who are important to other posters' national history, but European history too.

Also, I have never been in Venezuela, but the guy I know was. He was there twice, had a chance to talk with the people and he says they liked and appreciated Chavez's work.

Can't say I've studied Chavez or know everything about his presidency but he's obviously very well thought of by his own people and his socialist policies have improved the lives of many ordinary Venezuelans.

    RIP Hugo

Maduro should win in a landslide. The people have tasted socialism and won't make the mistake of turning their back on it now!

I think GG is going over to help with the election.:50:

    I hope so! :50:

GG is a great orator, and I agree with a lot of what he says, but he's an egotistical opportunist imo.

Agree with all of this (including the part about him being an egotistical opportunist), but he's a great orator in English. Not sure how much use that is in Spanish speaking country.
