Dont tell me riordan has secured first team ahead of mcgeady because of today, mcgeady hasnt been played for a long time now. Mcgeady is ten times more effective and creative than riordan in midfield. People use to say C. Ronaldo was just a showboater and wasnt effective well this is the same, and stonewall we wont be selling for £10million we'll be selling him for £o because he wont bother signing a new contract with idiots that thing he isnt good enough!

He has 2 and a half years left on his contract and if he wants to stay in the team he'll need to be a lot more consistent.

He seems to come into the team have a good game then it all falls away again. Ronaldo has more pace and is a lot stronger, making him harder to muscle off the ball.

Lay off the 'idiots' stuff bud, goals win games and Riordan could be worth 20 a season cutting in from the left wing.

He's not a striker, the left side of midfield or left of a front 3 is where he is most comfortable.

im not disputing that riordan cant score goals i was thrilled for the boy today, and i knew he would come good just like other signings. Are you sure about two and a half years? But i really think mcgeady gets way to much stick. imo he has playing his best and most consistent football this year, player of the month, brillant in both old firm games and even the last game he played he played well and scored a good goal, but yet didnt get a look in at hearts mirren or caley. So i really dont agree with this inconsistent agruement, if we're talking about that then grav, jiri shouldnt get a look in aswell.

Gravesen and Jarosik have both been dropped or rested like McGeady at certain points of the season.

McGeady doesn't get stick as I see it, most fans love to watch his quick feet and trickery but a lot of the time there is no end product. If he can't produce a cross or pass after beating a player with a trick then he's a passenger that the team can't afford to carry.

The games you've mentioned like away to Hearts and Caley are battles, where the team needs to scrap and kick for anything they get, not the type of games which suit McGeady. As WGS once said 'We needed men out there today'

McGeady needs to work on his upper body strength and make better decisions with his final ball. If he tried to play in the EPL right now he wouldn't last 10 minutes, so I'm not sweating over a new deal for him. I'm sure after the Maloney situation the club will want to talk to him in the summer about an extension. (I'm sure about the contract, runs until July 2009)

Riordan's record speaks for itself mate, 60 goals for Hibs in 3 seasons, that demonstrates the lad's ability.

    ..

He is a striker ...he started more games upfront for hibs than on the left of midfield...i don't have any proof as of yet but my unlce is a season ticket holder and he talks about it all the time. Hence his goals to games ratio for hibs ....i agree riordan should partner JVoH upfront from now on.

He played on the left of the front 3 in a 4-3-3 formation for Hibs. So he could drift infield during the game. Riordan on the left, O'Connor through the middle and Sproule on the right.

Believe me or not bud, doesn't matter to me. But I see quite a lot of Hibs and work with a lot of Hibees and that's how Mowbray had them set up.

I don't think that WGS makes many mistakes.....and when he does......he learns from them big time..

He was too kind in giving Du Wei that start against Clyde last year...and it backfired..

There is no sentiment in football or business

IMO Deeks is a cert now to partner JVOH up front against Milan..

I think Wee Gordon is being very clever here. He is doing to McGeady the same as he is doing to Tommy G. There is no doubt that Aiden has more talent than Deek but it doesn't always manifest itself on the park so he will leave him out of the team until he learns to play the way WGS wants him to play. Equally with Gravesen if he doesn't learn how to discipline himself then he won't get a game either.

If Riorden keeps this rate up (no reason why he shouldn't) then he should be getting a call from McLeish to play a part in Scotland's qualification attempt.
Especially now that McFadden has broken his foot.

With Riorden starting to shine, I'm much happier about losing Malony & getting Hartley instead.

To play both in the team WGS has to change the formation, but that was really always the case with Maloney & McGeady too.

I'd love to see McGeady, Riorden, Naka & Hartley in the same midfield, hopefully with Tymoshuck in there too:56: . Man, I would just cream ma * pants!!

People are dissing mcgeady cause hes in consitent but he picked up 1st 2 months 4 young player of the month then got injured he was out a few weeks then hasnt got a proper run in the team since so it would b hard for him to get his form back but GS should just play him from now till the milan clash so he has form nd match practise
