    Never mind Anton Ferdinand - Gary Caldwell should start at centre half next season - he has been OUTSTANDING recently. Not a misplaced pass or not a header lost nor a tackle missed in the past few months.

    I was critical of him but i'm always willing to give a Celtic player a chance to prove himself. He's won me over without a doubt and he'd knock * out of a little * like Anton Ferdinand

    Granted that Caldwell is playing well but doesnt stop us looking at and buying a better CB than him and playing them over Caldwell.

    Wouldn't go near the EPL market for players that are getting a regular game, over-inflated to a man. Couldn't tell you the last time there was a bargain to be had for an EPL player actually.

    I think we should go for the cb that played for panathinkos against rangers think his name was mosies or Naldo of wender breman as i think they looked like class acts
    but No to Dunne hes jst another irish player past his best & am sick of them

    Are you serious? Do you watch Manchester City play? Dunne is one of the best defenders in the epl.

    He would be well worth 5m and would be a massive signing for us.

    yes, Caldwell has been brilliant since the turn of the year. this doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking at centre backs to improve the squad. we are losing Pressley and, most likely, Balde. they didn't start last season alot but they will need to be replaced by a good centre back that can challenge Caldwell and McManus every week for a starting place.

    if theres a better defender than Caldwell out there, we should have no problem pushing Caldwell out the team and onto the bench to improve the XI overall. same goes with anyone in our team. however, in some positions we aren't going to get much, if any, better eg goalkeeper
