That was more like his J League self in the first half. Much more controlled and still not afraid to try things.

When he tires he starts to get a bit all over the place though. Had a very good game today.

Improve his fitness and concentration and he's a 20m pound player.

There’s so much potential there. His focus should be on fitness and ball retention. If he sorts them out over the summer he will be quality.

In fairness to the lad he's essentially been playing a year solid with no break. I think we'll see prime Hatate next season.

Think the guy is going to be an absolute star for us. Gives the ball away a lot as he tires currently but a rest and a pre season

Not concerned at all with his dip in form to be honest. We all can see he looks like he is needing a break, and he has basically confirmed that himself. Still think he looks a much better player when he can get on the ball centrally.

I'd still be tempted to start him v the huns, but if he's tiring in second half, like he was today, get him off quicker. Became a bit of a liability after a good first half display.

He was excellent first half, but understandably tired later on.

Will need to watch the game again but I thought he was heavily involved in linking up nearly all our attacks in the first half and didnt give much away. It allowed Calmac to have a fairly quiet 45 minutes. Can see why teams are starting to try and boot him off the park.

If we can get that from him for 90 minutes....then * *. What a player he'll be!

Was really good first half. The thing with Hatate is that although he's 23, the amount of first team football he's played is what you'd expect of someone younger than that, so he's very much still learning. Add to that the new culture, unfamiliar language, adapting to a quicker, more physical league... both Maeda and Guchi have experience living and playing in Europe, Hatate doesn't.

Hopefully he'll be some player for us next season.

I’d rest him next weekend, he’s clearly exhausted despite him looking better at times than he has done.

A bit more steel is required up against their midfield cloggers.

As a side point, he needs to start doing the huddle properly. Jota and O’Riley half arsing it too.. proper irks me :giggle1:

He still has flashes of quality but he's obviously knackered. Much better option off the bench for last 30mins or so right now.

I don’t think he’s his blind spot at all. Yeah Hatate is on tilt and he could bench him for the rest of the year but what does that do for him? Pretty much nothing.

Or Ange can take him through to the end of the season and show him that he’s capable of another level. What we are seeing here, right in the now, will set Hatate and Celtic up for next year for the league and push him to new levels that will be required in the Champions League.

The schedule doesn’t allow much rest, so if he can’t do it against the hun, diets, Ross county etc at the end of the season, what hope has he got against Liverpool, Real Madrid etc. When you play the big guns, at some point in the game your tank is going to feel like it’s empty, that’s when you will need to draw down on experience, this is a learning outcome to put us at the next level.

Thought he played well. Had 2 bad passes in the second and thats when he got subbed. Otherwise his forward running and passing was good. Can see how good he will be. You can rest him before the end of season but then he's still new and nervous. May's well use this time to rid himself of that. He's going to be class.

Think we'll see the best of him and everyone for that matter, next season..

After, a good rest and a full preseason under Ange with hopefully no European Qualifiers.. and an even stronger squad..

Think Ange will play him from the start on Sun..
