If he plays, he needs to be more central. I think one of the problems we have had recently is that Hatate and either Rogic/O’Riley are collecting the ball in a position you would expect a left or right midfielder to. We are playing with three in the middle of the park, but two of them are far too far apart, and it’s made our midfield look non existent at times. Hatate’s best games have been when he has got on the ball in a central area. It’s also where his goal against Hearts and the second against huns come from as well.

    Looked a lot better..

His booking was caused by him playing a * blind pass in the middle though and he chased it down and was a bit rash..

Flashes of brilliance but signs of concern too imo. I had hoped that sloppiness was just down to rustiness/adjustment but it doesn't seem to be going out of his game. Still early days but I am a wee bit concerned, I must say.

Aye i know and of course I'm not writing him off yet, but he does look a bit laboured and gives the ball away an awful lot with poor passes. Capable of brilliance too, mind.

Nowhere near even settled yet and just off a long season..

Still shown what he's capable of though..

I hope you're right mate, something just feels off for me, not sure what it is. Hopefully a full pre-season will have him coming back flying and we won't see so much of that sloppiness. He's capable of things none of our other 8s are.

The demands of Ange. Change of culture. Intensity/tempo of our league as well is much quicker than the J league. Just looking a bit more fatigued after a great start..

I'm no worried in the slightest mate..

I think he's got it in him to be a phenomenal player. Caught up with some old games of him in the J League when he was signing for us. His passing was tighter but he still tried the riskier pass more than someone like Turnbull would. He definitely played at a slower pace and you can see that with how casual he can be at times. Will take him time to fully settle in but think we will see the best of him (and O'Riley) next season.

I thought that was much better, and yet he was still sloppy :56:Guess it shows how poor he was previously.

You don't come from a completely different culture and playing style of football and dominate Hibs, Hearts at Tynecastle and the huns if you aren't a fantastic player. I think he'll continue to find his form for the rest of this season, and it'll be next season where he completely flourishes (alongside O'Riley I might add)

Think part of the problem was actually how good he was first 3 games v Hibs, diets and Huns, expectations were too high, id be slightly worried had a not seen him in those games but guy’s proved he is quality and looked as someone said in flashes as if getting back to his best

I'm really unsure what to make of him. Not willing to make a call until next season.

After the first few games he has become a bit inconsistent and even put in a couple of * performances but he has only been in the door for 2 1/2 months from the other side of the world. I think he has shown he has quality, we just need to be patient and he will again start showing his class

You forgot to mention the big feet! His interview where he said he needs to get used to the big feet of the Scottish players :giggle1:
