It’s another reason why winning the league is a must with the likelihood it guarantees CL football next year which nearly none of the guys we have brought in have experienced.

I agree with you though it’s actually crazy to think how many players we have signed that have multiplied their value already and Hatate, ORiley, Kyogo, Jota (if we sign him), Abada and Juranovic you would be talking well into 8 figures for any of them to be sold.

Blows your mind away to know that the two teams who beat us in our Europa group are sitting in the Champions League places for their country. We could easily be playing them again next year and while they will most likely improve, I have no doubt our evolution is going to be greater.

Let’s get this league done, so for one, we can qualify, and for two, we can get the Australian/Japan tour on.

He's a total complete player who still has time to improve.

    Has energy in abundance.

No problems with getting in and defending.

Vision for a attacking pass is right up there with anyone.

Has a shot on him that even Rogic would envy.

If he doesn't go on to achieve bigs in European football I'll astonished

Never even thought of this but what a great idea. Not having to navigate those qualifiers for the CL would be a godsend on multiple fronts.

Totally agree winning the league this year is massive on so many fronts.

    -Guaranteed CL Groups (very likely)
-Better chance of Jota and CCV being permanent additions
    - increases our budget for next year and we have something else to sell to a player we are aiming to bring in.
    - puts us back in a dominant position with it being likely next years league winners get CL groups again.
    - potential for summer tours bringing in more money and games played will be more relaxed than qualifiers so can focus on getting the league campaign off to a strong start.

Given all the above it is massive.

Yeah it's not just about the obvious financial boost it's the difference it makes to the squad in getting a decent break some like our long servers haven't had in a long time.

Manager given more time to fine tune and prep squad and get new signings marked and in the door.

Literally all the back office staff for Ange becomes so much easier and less of rush for as you say...to ensure the league campaign gets off to a strong start.

He doesn't really have any weaknesses bar giving it away now and then..

You could just attribute that to adjusting still and getting up to speed..

    Tenacious
    Quick
    Two footed
Every range of pass in the book
Presses and covers every blade of grass
    Can finish
    So clever
Knows when to release first time
Can glide by a man out of danger

    Could go on and on..

I was buzzing to get him after seeing his reels, most of us were...and you can see why..

    Unbelievable player..

Don't know if it's been mentioned but his composure is off the scale , given time for a touch and a look in a dangerous area and he will create an opportunity either him shooting or a silky ball like the pass to Abada.

Can he execute a dead ball chip though?

If so, we might have the next Ryan Jack on our hands

You wrote something earlier in this thread wondering if he could play in the 6? He's had brief moments during games where he was essentially playing that role and I'm starting to think he'd be very comfortable in there and that would still free up Rogic and O'Riley further up in the absence of McGregor. He's got the technique, engine and vision for it.

    Exciting options to have.

I think he probably could but he we'd lose a lot going forward if we dropped him back there..

I was excited by the videos, but he seems to be even better than the clips I saw of him in Japan. Can’t remember a player making such an immediate impact like this.(apart from Kyogo)

This is gonna sound mad but I actually think he can be a lot, lot better. His vision, technique, workrate is all there to see, but you can tell he's a bit behind, gassing early and giving the ball away a lot. Despite his brilliant goals and assists, he probably hasn't actually gone beyond an 8/10 for me, but I think in a month or two he could be giving 10/10 every other game.

The reason he gives it away is because he doesn't play safe passes.

They were discussing this after one of the games the other night. Think it was James McFadden and Petrov. It is refreshing as nowadays all you here is about possession and keeping it short and build up etc.

This is a guy who wants to break lines and take risks, it is rare you get that. I'm quite happy with him giving it away if it means 1 out of 5 passes comes off with a goal or a great chance. Kind of like Bruno Fernandes at Man United, he's often been slated for his pass completion I think but when you actually look at the type and range of passes he is attempting, you can see why.

Tbh I get that argument sometimes but I also seem some passes from him in games that aren't ambitious as such but are just a little tired and end up giving the ball away. I think that's fine, he's not up to speed and his class is clear, but I do think there's improvement to be made there, and fast.

There's been a couple, of course, but barring maybe McGregor (who never seems to lose the ball) a midfielder is going to lose it or be a bit sloppy now and again.

I do agree that he is still adapting though, but it's mad we are even talking about this, a guy who's been in the country just over a month!

Testament to how ridiculous he has been.
