Brutal for years is a wild take, but carry on.

    Inconsistent, yes..

But, I've got a feeling he'll star on Sun like he did only last week..

He looks stronger on the ball this season.

You’ve actually said in another thread it was one of the worst performances in Europe by a Celtic player in your lifetime. So with that level of pish your mind is made up anyway. Bernardo contributed very little going forward last night either by the way. For someone who gives it away “all the time” Hatate’s pass completion is actually higher than Bernardo in the CL so far this season.

It was one of the worst individual Celtic performances in Europe I have ever seen, he gave the ball away circa 20 times. A majority of which under zero pressure just trying stupid World Cup passes that weren’t on.

I’m not talking about the full European campaign, Hatate was absolutely outstanding against Leipzig and I said as much at the time. You’re allowed to comment on a single game in isolation.

Bernardo was our best player whilst on the park, to equate the 2 as equal on the night is seriously deluded pish.

One of the worst? How many is in this list? Because I could name two players against Brugge alone in Engels and Taylor that were worse than Hatate was last night.

The main issue last night for all our midfielders was that there was very rarely a pass forward on. The front 3 were all garbage. So we ended up having to force passes, which Hatate will try more than most. He played a very good ball in behind for Maeda first half in one of our rare pieces of good play. The one big moment I’d say he got horribly wrong was when he opted to try and play in Kuhn when he should have had a shot from the edge of the box. Again though, I wouldn’t give pass marks to any of our midfield or front 3 last night.

Aye. It's infuriating. And he turned the ball over lots. I'm not saying he deserves pass marks. But I'll not 2 footer him for trying to get forward and create when he was 1 of a poor front 6 last night.

Edit: I'll caveat that by clarifying that, I mean going forward. Bernardo was decent at the defensive side.

I'm not a fan of slaughtering our players, especially not someone like Reo who I love and is a fantastic player on his day, but last night he was absolutely diabolical. Misplaced just about every forward pass, held on to the ball too long, ran into opposition players and lost possession far too many times. I wanted him subbed at half time and he came back out and was even worse for the bit of the 2nd half he played in. I thought he was brutal against Aberdeen as well, although he did grab the winner so massive kudos to him for that. But his recent form is a bit of a concern. With him and Engels not firing just now McCowan for me should be starting with Bernardo and McGregor. Just a shame McCowan is cup tied on Sunday. However, knowing Reo he may turn up on Sunday and be the best player on the park. Fingers crossed!

Has came in for a bit of slack recently and tbf some of it was justified but he was better today. Excellent penalty also...

First 45 minutes he was awful, but the rest of the game he was absolutely fantastic.

    Great penalty as well.

Without a doubt our best midfielder today, despite a sloppy start.

From the second half on he was excellent I thought. They can’t handle him at all when he’s at it, which generally he is against them.

Actually thought at moments throughout the game he was back to his brilliant best.

Probably the most football he's ever played in one go.

    I'd agree with that..

Dusted his self off and realised what was at stake. Got to say them tiring a bit did have a part to play as well as they couldn't relentlessly sit on/press him like they did for most of the first..

Such a frustrating guy, when he is in the mood he is brilliant but doesn’t display that form often enough, he reminds me of Sammy when in the mood he was unplayable but drifts in and out of games too often.

I thought he started poor but grew into the game as it went on. Even in extra time I thought he probably looked the most composed player on the ball.
