Thought he was our best midfielder tonight.

Definitely looked up for it, head was on a swivel whenever he had the ball looking for an attacking option too, few crappy passes from him but same for rest of team tonight.

I thought out of the midfield players and most of the team first half he was the one if we got the ball to him he could find a pass into one of the forwards. He had a horrible pass in the first minute but by and large played really well when he was on.

He had a couple of nice touches and he worked hard as well which he had to, however, his stupid passes still remain and cause us serious problems at this level.

Not a chance he was better than Calmac.

If you asked for clips of his strong points and clips of his areas for improvement, a scout’s dream tonight

More ability in his wee toe than De Roon and Ederson imo, he just is so so frustrating in his decision making.

He was. None of them were great but McGregor was extremely poor first 60 mins or so. Don’t know how some folk cant admit that.

    Can I ask why?

Specifically what exactly did he do to warrant this, cause I'm genuinely baffled....

Got closest to supporting Idah, won lose balls around the edge of the box, made defensive headers and still attempted to play passing football. Showed calm and composure and created some half chances in the first half.

Some of the passes were given away and put us under pressure but he works to win the ball back and it's important we don't all just try and hit it long.

If we were to create anything during the game I felt like it would come from him finding a winger

Had a spring in his step that has been missing recently, was brave on the ball and worked his socks off for the cause.
    Just looked up for it.

Yeah that’s fair. But there’s definitely some fans that can’t see past McGregor. Been here his whole career, captain and all that. I love him but he wasn’t good the first hour last night. And like most of our team he’s a bit lost at the top level. Nothing wrong with that though we can’t compete at that level.

He was good and I liked his performance, but it was hands down, not even close or debatable in my mind - Callum McGregor

    Bonkers take.

Replace Reo for Bernardo or even McCowan and we still get the same result. Replace Calmac and we would have been trounced.

None of our midfielders were standouts.. we were dominated in there and didn't retain the ball anywhere near enough

But, apart from one risky pass I can remember he was most secure in possession and seemed to have more time on the ball than our other midfielders, which is always a sign of class.

Just a shame he doesn't have more than 60mins in him.

I actually thought McGregor was really poor, looked sluggish and didn't affect the game much at all. And I love McGregor.

I honestly do not recall a time in the match where hatate was on the ball for more than a few seconds. There was one pass that he slipped through to Idag which was a belter, and a couple of times he was stood at the end of our own box and cleared it when the ball landed straight at him, but other than that he was gash. Engels was even worse than him.

Mcgregor, although misplaced a few passes at times granted, he was the ONLY midfielder actually managing to get on the ball from deep and driving through gaining the yards.
