Knowing our luck, he’ll be injured and they’ll call up Kyogo to replace him!

Don’t think he’s injured though and can’t wait to have him back fully fit! Such a strong midfield we have when they’re all fit.

Meanwhile, Rodgers was pleased for Reo Hatate to get some late minutes against St Mirren as he completed his comeback from injury, and he is expecting big things from the midfielder in the second half of the campaign once he returns from international duty with Japan in the Asian Cup.

You could see afterwards he was actually quite emotional to be back out on the pitch again,” he said.

“He’s put in so much hard work and he’s a big, big player for us.

“So hopefully he can go away and get some minutes and keep his fitness up because when he comes back he’s going to be huge for us in the second half of the season.

Awesome to see the wee man back, sliding through pin point passes.
Its no coincidences that our slump came when he was out of the side and nobody could fill the void (till Paulo stepped up recently)

The slump was also there when he was start of the year, up until bout 2 games before he got injured when he looked back to the player we love.

The amount of chopping and changing, from teams that have looked good in spells, then changed again has been a big thing.

Bernardo gets a run of games, starts to show his worth, previously was in the wilderness until CL games when suddenly he was the man for them. We’re settling now it seems, got to January where we should show some financial muscle, Kyogo is staying here which is an unexpected bonus with the Asian Cup.

We’re clicking, things are now looking good after a lot of frustration, mainly due to some baffling decisions at all levels of the club.

I’d be very surprised given he’s recently signed a new contract but stranger things have happened.

Nah, think he was just emotional to be back on the pitch.. if he was off to pastures new don't think he'd be that emotional..

Just back from a lengthy injury.

    Can't see it.

Nah Rodgers has talked about it, said it was an emotional return for him having struggled with the injury. I imagine the prospect of missing the Asian Cup and how much he’d made it back in the nick of time to still go would have been a big thing for him.

Also slightly worried that Kyogo might start to think he needs to go elsewhere than Scotland and score like he is capable of to cement his place

Yes completely agree with you regarding Reo as for Kyogo a don’t see that age wise etc I think he will be around can’t see him moving on tbh , well I hoping so.

was he regularly called up whilst playing in Japan ?

Saving grace for us there is Hatate and Maeda are called up regularly, with Maeda being almost automatic first pick. So can’t blame the league there.

I think the Japan manager just doesn’t like him, he done a bizarre interview either last year or year before when he left Kyogo out, infact was it for the world cup? Anyway, said he’s too selfish and doesn’t work hard enough. Which is just wrong. Like factually wrong.

I'm not sure tbh mate. Feel like Kyogo will be in and out of Moriyasu's squads regardless of where he plays. He's no really what Moriyasu wants up top (same situation as us just now, doesn't really get involved in play and it doesn't suit Moriyasu's style).

It looks that way, because he wouldn’t be calling up his Celtic teammates if it was the league. But if he went down south and done it in the Premiership, I think he’d change his mind on him.

saying that, he’s done it in the CL this season and it hasn’t made a difference so maybe the guy just doesn’t like him, his comment about him not being hard working seems like that. Because he’s insanely hardworking

He looked good even in a brief cameo.

Please just stay injury free. Him, Oriley, McGregor and Bernardo now are gonna be huge for us 2nd half.

Maeda, Reo and Abada returning at the same time after being out for what feels like forever (weirdly even Maeda feels like he’s missed the majority of games, but relatively shorter period of injury) - them being back makes the squad feel so much healthier quality wise.

As much as we know the squad needs improved, we’ve been unlucky as * with injuries as well. Been important players, for lengthy periods, and piled up in the same positions when guys get injured. Started the year with what, 6 CB’s injured? Them 3/4 wingers, then 2/3 CM’s…

When you look at the midfield options, we’re actually very strong:

    Calmac
    O’Riley
    Reo
    Bernardo
    Turnbull
    Iwata
    Holm

All guys I have no issue starting for us in a game, trust them to have an effect on the pitch. Obviously some are better than others and more suited together but all I’d be happy seeing on the pitch
