Celtic are set to be without Reo Hatate until the New Year after the midfielder tore his hamstring against Atletico

 

Big opportunity for Bernardo

 

Need another player of a similar style. Far too slow and laborious in midfield when Hatate is missing.

 

I know he hasn’t been making the squad of late but I think holm showed very good signs up until his red card incident. He was quite dynamic n looked slick. I do think Iwata could bring a nice balance to the midfield aswell to let calmac get slightly more advanced in attacks. Bernardo looks good but the midfield did look very slow with him and O’Riley starting

 

Think it's an absolute massive opportunity for Rodgers to put his arm around Holm now and bring him back into the fold..he showed a bit of immaturity with his bullshit social media v Aberdeen and the sending off v feyenoord... No doubting his ability.

He posted a photo of himself on the ball v Aberdeen, with the caption "* be humble, sit down #3p". It was later deleted.

 

Can we phone Mooy and have someone talk sense to him?

 

Huge loss but its an opportunity for iwata, Holm and Bernardo to step up.

 

Celtic have been dealt a blow with news that influential player Reo Hatate is unlikely to play again before Christmas.

The midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during last week’s 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has now revealed that Hatate will miss the remaining group stage games, and key league matches, as he faces around two months out.

He said: “Reo, we are not 100 per cent on the exact timings, but he is certainly going to be out until after Christmas, we think, so that’s a shame.

 

This sadly is more along the lines of what I was expecting. His reaction when he had to come off last Wednesday suggested he knew this was a serious injury. Massive blow to him and the team.

 

Beyond belief now. It’ll be halfway through the season by the time he’s back and it feels like he’s barely kicked a ball.

 

Then after Xmas if he is fit, he’ll be fuxkin off to the Asian cup for another month

Would try Iwata holding with McGregor slightly forward and Holm should certainly get a chance too.

 

Gutting for Hatate but as mentioned already we have Bernardo, Holm and Iwata eager to impress. These are the chances you need at Celtic to kick start your career, and all 3 look capable to me.

Am more excited to see how they go rather than being downbeat about missing Hatate.

Gutted for him, one of my faves in the squad but as others have said a good opportunity for others to step up. I've always like the look of Iwata and be good to see him get more game time, Holm I'd like to see more of to make up my mind about him but have liked parts of his play so far, looks like potential there. Just not onboard the Bernardo train as yet (not seen enough) but with more time on the pitch he will get a chance to win me and others around.

 

Grade 4 hammy. Upto 16 weeks same severity as kyogo/turnbull in 2021/22 season
