Reo Hatate feels the disappointment of not participating in the European tour due to injury, saying, ``I feel like I'm being tested, so I want to do my best.''

He was not included in the national team during the European tour in September due to injury. Regarding the games against Germany and Turkey, he said, ``I watched both games on TV,'' and added, ``I got the impression that we were a good team, but I was also disappointed.I thought I could show my strengths. I was watching. This time I have a chance to be selected and play in the match, and I think I'm being tested, so I want to do my best,'' he said emphatically.

In this activity, they will play against the Canadian and Tunisian national teams. Looking ahead to the match, Hatate said, ``I don't know how it will play out, but there's no way I can hold the ball for 90 minutes. Switching between offense and defense is one of my strengths, so I think the key will be how I can make my presence felt there.'' ``I don't know if there will be two volunteers, but realistically, I think it's likely to be below the top. However, there are various positions that will be used.'' Being able to do it is one of my strengths, so I don't know where I'll play, but I hope I can perform as well as I can in the position I play in.''

When asked about his play with his regular club Celtic, Hatate said, ``Since returning, I have gradually been able to play my own game, so I think I have been able to play for longer periods of time. We have to produce results," he said, while talking about the challenges he faced, saying, "I haven't been able to play that many games since coming back from injury, so there are some difficult parts, but compared to the preseason, things went smoothly ( I've been able to play more often (in the center).I think it's all about how I can bring my strengths to the team, so I think that's up to me rather than the team. While organizing what the team needs to do, I also want to sort out what needs to be done,'' he said, aiming for further improvement.

Starting and playing on the left of a front 3 for Japan. Looks good there as well.

I have thought about playing him on the right of our front three before the performance he put in during the last game. He was brilliant when we played him at right back against St Johnstone last year but that was pretty much all out attacking play.

On form Hatate could play either wide position or through the centre and be very effective.

Some absolute sublime touches and some really slack play too..

He's not a penalty taker tho as much as I love him.

I actually thought he was MOTM today. Back to his best.

Just keep him off penalties please.

I know at times he can be a bit sloppy, but some of his play was outstanding.

Think that's the last we will see of him taking the pens lol.

I think that’s why he’s so effective, he doesn’t shy away after losing a few passes and still tries the outrageous.

No idea why he can’t take a pen though :giggle1:

Could see he was gutted when he come off about the penalty. The penalty miss actually seemed to fire him up I thought, which shows a lot of character. Could have easily let it get his head down.

Palma or Kyogo should be on pens from now on, I'm pretty sure the last penalty he took was * as well, but managed to creep in.

Excellent for Kyogo's goal, but I thought he wasn't at his best today.

A lot of people have said that he's a player who will try risky passes that won't always come off. I think that's accurate, it's also something am fine with as long as the effort is there.

Thought today he was excellent in spells, poor in others, but he put the graft in regardless and didn't let the head go down. Absolutely no problem with that myself.

Palma, Maeda, Kyogo, or O'Riley should be taking pens

Penalty aside, I thought he was brilliant again. As someone said above he’s got that gracefulness on the ball like Zidane had when he’s on his game , probably my favourite player ever out with Celtic, so I can’t praise him anymore than that.

Thought he was rotten until he missed the penalty, strangely enough. Came to life after that and then got subbed.

Did well for the Maeda goal but he was so slack in the first half. We've always known he loses the ball often because he tries risky, progressive passes. But he was giving it away under little pressure, trying to play simple 10-15 yard passes.

Love the guy but he needs to start putting in a good run of performances.

He was getting played very rough today on the verge of illegal play tbh. Yet they avoided a yellow. Can see why it took him a bit to adjust. Long travel etc. Still played like baller. Love him.
