Reo Hatate

Agree with others here. If Hatate is fit enough to be considered I'd have him on from the start. I get the argument that putting him on later means their team will be more tired, but it also opens up the possibility of him having a reoccurence and having to sub a sub at the end of a game.

Get him on, get the game under control and hopefully the damage done, and off at the 60 mins mark. Was pretty much how we played him last season too. If ahead by a few goals then Mooy on to calm it down, otherwise O'Riley.

 

I wouldn’t start him, the first half will be 100mph and he’s not match sharp. If needed we can bring him on after a hour but that again, for me, would be a last resort. All being well give him 10-15mins at the end.

 

Got to start for me , would even go with a midfield 3 of iwata , mcgregor and Hatate which would give hatate more protection

think that’s 3 players who can defend and also very good at going forward too as well as bring lots of energy , I think hatate will get 60minutes

 

Think it’s blatantly obvious he was rushed back today and nowhere near fit, just make sure he’s fully match fit for the final now

 

Needs wrapping in cotton wool, take our time getting back to match fitness

Rest him against Hearts, maybe 10/15 minutes at most, as he's clearly not match fit yet, then start him in the next game.

 

Love Ange but he got this wrong today. Hatate should never have been in the starting 11.

 

In hindsight should probably have played Mooy, Hatate never really done anything wrong but you could tell he wasn't buzzing about as much as usual, never really did anything defensively or even come back near our defence much and wasn't on the move enough to get on the ball in their half either.

Usually he'd come back in behind Taylor and McGregor and be running about between the lines offering himself but was none of it really.

Similar to Mooy when he played the last hun game, be surprised if he starts any of the next few games.

 

Called it. Been saying it for the past week, you can't just throw someone into a game like that that's been put for over a month and expect him to do the damage. Thankfully we got away with it today. Slowly ease him in the next few games and get him fit for the final now.

Like others I was surprised he started and he wasn't anywhere near as effective as he has been. Hopefully get him back to form soon.
