Ange Postecoglou has shut down Reo Hatate long term injury fears and insisted the playmaker will be back for Celtic’s bid to create more magic in the Premiership run in.

The midfield ace missed out on Saturday’s 3-2 Old Firm win that has fired the Hoops to the verge of retaining the title. There had been fears the 25-year-old’s hamstring injury could be a season-ender after he hobbled off in last month’s win against Hibs.

Hatate won’t be risked on Kilmarnock’s plastic pitch this Sunday but Postecoglou is more optimistic the Japanese star could make the Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Rangers at the end of the month. He said: “It’s fair to say Reo won’t make next week. But he won’t be out long term. It’s just a case of making sure he’s ready to go." Postecoglou was thrilled his side did the business against Gers without the player-of-the-year candidate. He said: “Yeah, it was. Reo has been fantastic for us.

“He’s always performed well for us in the derby games, in the big games. I think if you look back chronologically at the year, whenever we need a contribution from people we have always had it.

Hopefully he gets a run out against Motherwell to get back in the groove then good to go for the semi final.

    I'm thinking the same tbh.

We never give away much about our injuries and maybe I'm just being pessimistic.

    Happy to be proved wrong.

He’s fully expected to. Expect him back in the squad for the Motherwell game.

Great news if that's the case..

We don't need to rush him though, like we did Kyogo last year..

The leagues won and we know we can and have beaten them without him already..

Although he is the big difference maker..

Hope he is fit for it. If not, I can't see us playing that badly again with Mooy closer to full fitness, and Iwata showing that he can step in if needed.

I reckon he’d be playing on Sunday if it was on a normal pitch.

Ange Postecoglou says he hopes to have the likes of Reo Hatate back in the Celtic fold 'within a week or so.'

The influential midfielder missed last week's derby with Rangers but his teammates got the job done by emerging 3-2 winners over their rivals. Liel Abada also missed out of that one and both won't be involved this weekend when Celtic make their way to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Rewatching game vs they * in Cup final and he's head and shoulders above anything they have. Need him back along with a fit Mooy to dominate them in next game.

    Hopefully he's back in time

Seems like he will be. Ange not taking any chances keeping him out of this weekends game on Kilmarnock's plastic monstrosity makes sense too.

Would keep O’Riley in alongside calmac and reo, he’s been excellent any game against them and thought he had a great game last week aswell.

Has there been a training video today? There has been some noises that Jota and Hatate haven’t been training this week and likely to miss out this weekend.

    Doesn't look too good then..

Would only get 1 training session before the weekends game..

Can't see him taking part....which means we'll be lucky to see him on the bench for the semi..

    McGregor
    Iwata
    O'Riley

It is for the next couple..
