    I have been in Rennes. Nice enough place with all these big squares that seem a bit big for the town. I was there at the start of a tour of Brittany taking in Vannes, Carnac, Concarneau, Lorient, Quimper etc. Lovely place and nice people. Its the Celtic fringe bit of France and the Bretons have a language that is very close to Cornish and Welsh and a more distant relation to Gaelic.

    Wonderful people I lived there for 6 months.

    Lorient has a Celtic festival every year, I was there when Scotland was the guest of honour (they change guest Celtic Nation every year). Utterly brilliant, very, very, very friendly people - it's a custom to shake hands with EVERYONE in the pub as you enter & leave the pub, even if you don't know them!!

    I was at the Lorient interceltic festival about 10 years ago. Love the local delicacies like the savoury Galettes (Crepes) and the bowls of mussels in their shells with curry sauce poured over.

    Weird how they have New Zealand & Australia included though, suppose it's taking the migration of the Celts (lol remember your old name Keltoi) into the 18th Century & beyond.

    Creperies everywhere & great markets too, always selling mussels & roast chickens.
