This is something I think I've mentioned before when the Ange was first here.

His system very clearly works... it is creating chances, good ones at that... but Celtic, as much I love our entire squad under Ange don't have the real quality needed to put them away.

And in todays market... if we did, we'd get less than a year out of them with the amount they'd score.

If we had our own Nkunku level type player we'd be winning games under Ange in Europe.

Sad reality is we don't and even if we did...our coffers would be bursting with quickfire £40mill sales as our board would never refuse offers like that.

Yup and it’s all we could ask for at this level is to still be in with a chance after half way and not a tiny chance like needing to go away and win a couple of tough away games that will never happen.

Tuesday is a huge game and the build up will be massive although it doesn’t feel like that right now. Come the start of next week everyone will be buzzing for this. A huge chance to get right back in the hunt for qualification under the light at Celtic Park against a beatable team.

I have a feeling that will determine second place in the group tbh.

The game against Shaktar will be make or break for Europe after Christmas imo.

Scenes when we seal our place in the last 16 with a 3-0 win against Real Madrid's B-team in the Bernabeu.

I have no tattoos but I said to my brother in law that I'd get a four leaf clover done if we were to draw or beat Real Madrid.

I'd gladly get it done on my forehead.

Win our next 2 games (at home) & hope Madrid win their next 2 & we’re through. Long shot but not impossible.

We are going through a wee sticky spell at the moment, the mounting injuries are not helping at all. Win on Saturday and sneak a win on Tuesday and the confidence will come rushing back.

the number of times we refused to play the ball foward to someone in the middle was shocking side to side and backwards pish

nahhhhh. not the way to play CL compared to SPL.

CL is a different ball game. The Teams are quicker & more skillful.

We just have to be more defensive. How many times have we been hit with goals whilst trying to mount an attack in the last qtr of the pitch upfield. Juranovic has been caught out 3 times in the last 3 games resulting in goals.

You can be all dandy pretty passing & pressing in the SPL but CL is a different league.

The "problem" with ange-ball is we push the entire back-line upfront... and then find that some of the defenders are not quick enough and get out run

Result i expected tbh but we didn't help ourselves. Players couldn't be further apart from each other at times. Slow from the backline, really miss Starfelts little runs forward to kick start attacks. 1st have finishing poor again or could have been better. No calmac 2nd half meant little drive in midfield aswell as defence. Maeda was a waste down the right.
In a bit if a rut atm so hooefully a good win at saints loosens us up a bit for the home leg.
Still quietly confident we may sneak 2nd.

We're all too high up the pitch. We loose the ball, one pass to the middle, turn and pass to the wing. The wings wide open as our fullbacks still sniffing the keeper after those two passes. Put wanyama in the middle and the initial pass is either blocked, or delayed for the wing and then our defenders are back.

If we do score into open nets when a keepers on the ground and don't play passy shoot with the striker then this would be a totally different conversation. That shows we're not far off.

Just watched the game and have not read the thread as yet.

I am stunned with that brain freeze by Hart. He just got out of jail with the ref disallowing the German goal and two minutes later he tries to thread the eye of the needle with a pass to Taylor that was not even on, while he had Jenz on his left with space and all the time in the world to receive the pass. Why the effing rush ? We were concerned with how Welsh would play and he did fine. Hart made fine saves in the game, but Joe - what the * man ! The camera was not on Ange but he would have been raging.

We could have drawn this game and got the point because our chances on the day to score were few and far between. The only clear chance we got was Kyogo's header that was saved in the 24th minute. We played a tactical game given the players we had and Calmac going off and CCV and Mooy not available. Abildgaard did well and Jenz and Welsh were sound.

We had a fortunate night and the gods were with us but we stuffed it up again with that brain freeze by Hart. Rarely have I seen so many decisions go our way in a game. Goals disallowed by VAR, ball hitting the upright, no penalty given against us for handball.

Leipzig tend to counter-attack down the channels in groups of four so next week we need to be on our guard.

I was expecting a good result for this game but it was not to be. The boys look leg weary to me.

Best example is club Brugge and look at their * group athletico Leverkusen Porto and they got 9 points we should be able to get 7 points in next 3 games 8 should be enough for second and if we have aspiration for constant auto qualification then that should be the goal

Our CL campaign this far has given us plenty to feel encouraged about and also plenty to feel discouraged about.

Bar Madrid away, we've had all the most difficult fixtures of the group in the first 3 games. I hope we will take Leipzig and Shaktar to Celtic Park having focused on the encouraging signs - we can create chances against these sides. We take our chances we defo getting more points than we did in the last 2 fixtures.

It's a mentality thing. When the ball falls to Hatate from the Leipzig keeper's blunder there's an element of rush/panic when he takes his effort on goal. That measure of almost relaxation or assuredness was missing. That extra couple seconds he could have taken to measure up the shot. It's moments like that
