Actually, you raise an interesting point. Where are we in terms of spending for all teams in Europe?

Was driving so missed the first half. Hate early kick offs. Second half was an abject disappointment. We need to really improve to have a chance against them at home.

Wasn’t confident beforehand and when McGregor went off that was it for me. Even when it went 1-1 we were never hanging on I doubt even if Hart didn’t * it.

Carter Vickers in for Welsh next week. Welsh was not bad tonight tbf to him. Abada or Haksabanovic in for Maeda and hopefully McGregor is ok then we can take them at home.

    yep * it

sometimes i wonder if a younger keeper would be better not discounting what hart has done for us

but theres a phrase "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" and it kind of seems apt

dont know much about seigrist how good is he with his feet ?

I dunno...didn't really expect too much from today.

Disappointed always in any loss but on paper the result seems entirely predictable

we can do it but its gonna be much much harder without calum

just watched their first goal again there and calum * his knee in the original challenge you can see his pain, then ran as fast as * back on a damaged knee to get a challenge in, although understandable as hes a celtic fan that could have made the injury much much worse

Re-wind a few years and would you ever expect to see those type of stats in Europe away from home? I wouldnt. Were on the right path. Looking at red bull, we're missing that tall and strong athleticism they possessed. Even "speed king" meada looked slow. A myth he's so fast. He's fast but no Agathe.

We move on, beat shaktar and imo it secures 3rd. Hopefully red bull collapse away from home next week.

Until we make ourselves hard to score against nothing will change. You simply cannot play as open as we do, with as little positional discipline as we do or be so careless with our passing around our own box as we are and hope to compete in European football. We have clearly learned nothing from last season and have a half-way goal record of P3 scored 2 conceded 7. Nothing but failure lies ahead until we stop being an easy touch. We are good attacking wise but not so good that we can expect results when conceding 2 or more goals each game. We are so open and soooo naive I genuinely cringe at times. This isn't about 1 player or even the back 4 and GK, in top-level football today every player is an attacker and every player a defender. The last time I would say we were consistently hard to break down in Europe was probably under Strachan and we won't do a thing until we become so again.

Beaten by the better team tonight, they played well. Next week is a different game though, wouldn't write us off. Mcgregor would be a miss but it's not beyond us to beat them with home advantage. Hopefully CCV will be back, massive miss for us tonight.

To play the high risk football we do you need two things, to be as perfect as you can be when you have the ball and to be totally clinical when you get chances. We are neither. We are slack at times and pass up way to many chances. Unless that changes we won't pick up many points.

Getting concerned with our poor fitness. We are out on our feet at 60/70 mins and opposing teams aren’t tiring like we are in the last 20 mins.

Where is the ultimate fitness? I’m not seeing it, possession wise Leipzig probably edged it but it’s not like we were chasing the whole game. We will never be able to compete playing this style of football until our fitness improves big time it’s not good enough.

Yep!!! This needs to be looked at again

It's all well and good saying he's not as good out wide etc but * me he can't be any worse than maeda.

The manager had to find a way to get his best striker on the pitch

A totally agree mate, maybe the 7-1, 5-0 7-0 from previous champions league campaigns have had that affect on me, that I’m genuinely hoping especially away that we don’t get a spanking and embarrassed, no easy when you’re playing in a league that you are always on the offensive trying to break down teams that are always on the defensive, to suddenly change your style becoming the team mostly on the defensive, a would honestly rather lose having a bit of a go than doing what the Huns did last night and turn up with no other plan than trying to keep the score down
