We just need a bit more composure in front of goal. Hit and hope might work against the dross in the SPL, but against decent teams we need to be more precise.

 

In fairness, the Huns parked the bus in both games - playing with a back 5 and 3 defensive mids. Their gameplan was to frustrate and try to lob a long ball up in counter attack. It's what Shaktar did in the opening game against them. It worked.

I don't like that style of play but I have to accept that if we continue to play as we are then we won't be winning many games in the CL.

Yeah it's trying to find that balance. His quick passing from deep is crucial to way we play (see Mooy at St mirren). Prob very few can do that and the defensive side.

Not blaming him as its not natural to him but he can't be losing the ball that high of he's our deepest midfielder

 

Expected a wee bit more going forward and that's letting us down tonight. Only 1-0 though so heads up at the mo! Need a wee moment of magic to haul us right back into this.

 

1-0 down isn’t bad but need to start taking our chances, plenty time to get going. We know they are a pacy counter attacking team, need to keep the ball better as well.

They are absolutely killing us down the wings. Got away with one with the marginal offside.

If they’d scored three or four there we couldn’t have had any complaints.

You are tuned to the moon if you think we’re a better side than them. We’ve at least three players on the park that are nowhere near this level.

 

Spot on. Our biggest problem is that the situations we find ourselves in Scottish competitions are so far removed from European football.

The standard of defenders is generally much better, and that explains why we don't get clear-cut chances.

As good as Kyogo is many managers would play big GG in a game like this instead - none more so than the man doing the half time punditry; Wee Gordon Strachan - He always went with a big man up top like Jan Venegoor of Hessilink
