Why does everyone want Thompson to play? No doubt the lad has potential, he has done us proud this season when needed but he still has a long way to go and is nowhere near ready for this game.

Rogne would be a better option but I think TM will go with Loovens and O'dea. Both of which have not been playing too well. But they are both experienced. Dont forget for all his bad O'Dea has had some very good performances for Celtic and he also scored the opening goal in last seasons CIS cup final against the huns.

I do think we will win but we need an experienced defence so its Loovens and O'Dea for me

I'm with kevtun I think on this. Experience should shine through, especially in Old Firms. However neither Loovens or O'Dea have excelled against Rangers in the past.

But in one respect this is the a crossroads for that pair. Having languished on the bench and no doubt felt they deserved a starting place ahead of McManus and Caldwell over the past 2 seasons, now THEY are the experienced ones and need to prove that their previous aggrievances were justified.

The other thing with the 2 youngsters is this is the kind of game where 1 bad/disastrous incident or performance can tar you for the rest of your Celtic career. Aged 18/19 this is really not the time for a make or break performace, especially seeing as the league is all but dead.

So Loovens and O'Dea should play - if they do well then fantastic - some first steps towards proving they can cut it at the top. And if they don't, well it's confirming what we all suspect - they can't cut it. No point risking our brightest prospects at CB when we have 2 experienced players who really should be stepping up to the plate and putting in their best performances of their Celtic career.

Ignore all this if injury takes its toll.

    Would like to see
    <!-- / user info --> <!-- message, attachments, sig --> <!-- message -->
    Boruc
    Hinkel Thompson Rogne Braafheid
    N'Guemo
    Brown--------Crosas
    Fortuné-----------------Kamara
    Keane

    Which could easily become
    Boruc
    Hinkel Thompson Rogne Braafheid
    Brown Crosas N'Guemo Kamara
    Fortuné Keane

if we are struggling, but I expect to see

    Boruc
    Hinkel Loovens O'Dea Braafheid
    McGeady Brown N'Guemo Kamara
    Fortuné Keane

Personally I would leave McGeady on the bench, as he too often goes missing in these games. Bring him and Rasmussen on if we need goals in the second half. Crosas and N'Guemo are a must as they ran the game last time out, but with Brown now as captain he will definitely play. Crosas will remain an unused substitute, although his performances this season have merited his place in the side.

I feel happy enough having Thompson and Rogne at the back as they have looked solid enough over the last game or two, although there are some doubts over Thompson's pace against Miller. I think TM will put out Loovens and O'Dea, even although they are not a good partnership, and Loovens probably isn't fully fit.

We all know how the huns will play, it'll be 4-5-1 hit us on the break sort of stuff, with elbows and help from the referee a virtual certainty. We also know that this game is the most important of the season so far, and that anything less than 3pts sends the SPL trophy to Ibrox.

I'm not hugely confident if I'm completely honest but as they say form goes out the window in these games so you never know.

    Am goin with:

    Boruc

    Hinkel
    Rogne
    Loovens
    Braafhied

    McGeady
    Brown
    N'Guemo
    Kamara

    Keane
    Fortune

Don't know why people would rather Ras in? who would you drop?

Keane and Fortune have been playing well and getting on the score sheet, Ras may be a good striker but why drop any of these two when they are in form and looking like creating a good partnership?

dont care what the team is, as longs as its the winning team!!
although, i hope samaras doesn't come on & Rasmussen does, he has the potential to bully the huns centre backs, something we've been missing for quite a while

don't see keane scoring, think the pressure of the celtic fans wanting him to score could prove a bit to much but i hope by this time sunday i can eat my own words

quite confident going into the game think we can win 2-0 with kamara & mcgeady scoring

McGeady is for me first choice, especially after his current form. Can honestly not believe why anyone whould like to drop him? We missed big time against Dundee.

    I think this will be the team;

    ***********Boruc***********

    ****Hinkel****Loovens****O'Dea****Braafheid

    ****McGeady****Brown****N'Guemo****Kamara

    *************Fortuné*****Keane**********

I like your team apart from ODea and agree about McGeady his pace is vital as long as he supplies a good final ball. I would rather throw Rogne in or Thompson instead of Odea. ODea lacks the composure and doesnt read the game all that well imo. . I Would also like to see Rasmussen on for last 20 to 30 mins if we need a goal.

Changed my mind wi the selection so here goes:

    1.Boruc

    2.Hinkel 22.Loovens 48.O'Dea 21.Braafheid

    46.McGeady 6.N'Guemo 8.Brown 15.Kamara

    10.Fortune 7.Keane

    Subs 24.Zaluska 25.Rogne 38.Thompson 18.Ki 17.Crosas 9.Samaras 19.Rasmussen

1-0 Bhoys think it will be a * game with Keane getting the winner.

Hope Rogne starts cos O'Dea is crap have a feeling Thompson will play hope not he is crap IMO

Not looking forward to this one to be honest, its a must win and we have two rookies at the back against miller & boyd who have been scoring for fun, Its bad enough they had loovens, mcmadness and caldwell in there pockets never mind two young lads
