Key to winning this game is dominating the midfeild and our best chance of that is playing 5 in there.

    ..........ljungberg....kayal...ledley...samaras..

    ......................paddy.....................

Get paddy in and around elbows the derry pele will tear him a new azzhole.

    Just can't get enough
Thought a bit and came to this:

    Forster

    Wilson - Majstorovic - Rogne - Izaguirre

    Juarez - Kayal - Ledley

    McCourt- Ljungberg

    Stokes

Quality midfield with one sitting midfielder (Kayal) and two dynamic midfielders (Juarez and Ledley).

McCourt and Ljungberg playing in centre behind Stokes.

I'm loving how arrogant and confident the rangers fans are, go on their forums, they're certain they're gonna thrash us. Even the players are confident like Weiss saying he can't wait to beat Celtic etc. It's kinda like the first Rocky film before the fight, let them build themselves up and get their hopes up and let us do the talking on the pitch. I'm not too confident either considering our record at Ibrox in the last few years, but it will be close.

    GK and back 4 are a given;

    Forster
    Wilson - Rogne - Maj - Izzy

Midfield is a tough one. There have been many points in the thread so far, a lot of them very valid.
Consistency is important as the longer a team plays together the more aware of each other, ergo better, they should become. Having said that some players recently haven't shown enough to be worthy of a place against relegation fodder never mind the manky mob, so here goes...

Ledley - been found missing/wanting too often, although possibly the time for him to step up. Defo needs to get mentally prepared.
Juarez - not played enough football and unlikely to start
Ljungberg - not played enough football and worried of a repeat re high profile player debut, a la Roy Keane/Robbie Keane, etc
McGinn - not shown enough to merit starting place, also not phyiscal enough
Forrest - has to start due to ability, regardless of actual game time v the filth. Also has been reared at CP so knows what it means and what it's all about!
McCourt - should be a starter, however sometimes better as an impact sub in certain games
Mulgrew - has been poor in defence, however possibly worth a punt at LM to offer protection for the attack minded Izzy, not to mention danger at set pieces (if we get any) Also able to offer something physical & a bit of height
Kayal - not played much football but must start in DM
Kapo - seems to be out injured

    Forward(s)
    Murphy - no
Samaras - possibly as lone striker but would prefer not
Stokes - most potent threat and seems to be obvious choice, although possibly depends on team formation, i.e. who is supporting/playing alongside, although can imagine 4-5-1

With all that said, my team would be...

    Forster
    Wilson - Rogne - Maj - Izzy
    Kayal - Ledley
    Forrest - McCourt - Mulgrew
    Sammy/Stokes

    Subs
Zaluska, Hooiveld/Loovens, Juarez, Ljungberg, McGinn, Sammy/Stokes, Keatings

It is worth noting that had our squad been fully fit the above would be quite different!!!

Either way, lets get right behind the team and hope for a very Hoopy New Year!!!
