Since MON came its frightening the amount of money we have spent on average squad players,especially from spl teams.some worked and most didn't but in all honesty most should never have been good enough to wear the hoops.even the successful ones like Robson and skippy should never have been at the club.

no way to prove it either way i guess but i disagree. Fulham just aren't very good, those who think they are buy into the EPL hype far to much imo. We shouldn't be signing injury prone bench players from poor premiership teams, we have far to many injury prone centerhalves as it is.

Your right, i said it in another thread the amount of times celtic have gone and spent 1-2 mill on average players is unbelievable. 3 1.5 million players can get you a baba diawara for example at 4m.

I hate to compare ourselves with the huns, but the perfect example is jelavic, 4 million for a good quality player instead of a couple of 1-2 million players who are at best squad level and don't improve the overall level of the team.

Of course there are those that are bought for these prices that turn out to be gems, but you can't keep relying on picking out diamonds in the rough.

 

I agree with Diawara, but Jelavic? I think he's vastly over rated - the boys not that much better than Stokes, albeit he is tidier at heading the ball at the moment. I also think he's been hyped up a lot by the media (cheers Record, Hun and BBC News) and what has Stokes had over the past year? No plaudits at all, just shady article after article about his parents.

For me, given his age, work rate and technical ability at the moment, he'll be the far better player by the time he's 26.

Being devils advocate for a second, you could argue laffable comes good for rangers and the right time in the season, in the last 10 games, where some of the goals scored could be crucial in winning / losing the title.

Now i do not want to defend laffable who i despise and is on my most hated footballer list.

 

If serious about signing Halliche I'd have expected a deal to have been announced by now.

 

He does do a job at the end of the season but it doesnt make him worth the money they paid for him. We got Hooper and Stokes for around the same price as Lafferty.

spending big on one player is not a guarantee of success, we spent big on Fortune and look what that got us.

 

I reckon we will loan him in january with option in the summer. That way we provide cover for Maj and also we can evaluate him before signing him permanently.
