My only worry with this guy is his injury record, Rogne and Wilson are both quality centre halves but they are no use to us in the treatment room, I really don't think we can afford to sign another injury prone player in this position given that we already have 5 or 6 first team CBs already.

I Think he is saying don't judge a book by its cover, Im ok with this for 500,000 its not a bad gamble, remember it's not a team of individuals Lenny is trying to build.

Looks like he might just need a break and a run of games, with the hope of staying fit because he's got quality. If that's the case, if we sign him I would be furious if we didn't sign another CB too.

We can't afford a gamble, we need reliable quality.

A loan with option to buy would be ideal here if he proves his fitness we can sign him up for next season

evening times suggesting we're trying to line him up on a loan deal...

do we need another CB we've got Dan, Loovens, Mulgrew, Rogne and Wanyama. Ideally if we shifted Loovens & Rogne who are both too injury prone then brought in someone.

Point is larsson and sutton couldn't get a game at their respective teams. In football their is a history of example where a player was a a start and couldn cut it at the next club. I was a joke and became a huge success. Just because fulham don't rate him it does not mean he ain't good enough. Nakamura was a star here, and couldn't get a game at espanyol, again it doesn mean he ain't good enough, just that move didn't work for him.maybe fulham didn't work for this boy?

Exactly. We need to stop comparing ourselves to English football. Concentrate on wether the guy is good enough for us or not.

    Such as?

The only players that would get starting are,
    Hangeland would start at CH
Duff or Dempsey as the winger
Dembele or Ruiz as Hoopers partner.

No matter how good he does on trial, he is a risk because of his previous injuries. I think if he impresses on trial, Celtic should look to loan him for the rest of the season with an agreement to buy for a reasonable set price included. If he continues to impress for 6 months and avoids injury then we will be in no doubt what to do, if he fails to make the grade or is hampered with injury, then we will know what to do. Either way, we wont be signing long term deadwood like Murphy & Hooiveld & Rasmussen.

Totally agree with that, the amount of times we have spent £1.5m on players that are injury prone or not good enough...Rasmussen, Hooiveld etc

Think I misunderstood what was said because I agree 100%, I'm not saying those 3 teams are better than Celtic, I'm saying we are different and players could be successful no matter what their history.

My point is that Chelsea and Feyenoord were good teams and taking a squad/bench player from a good team can be good business. Taking a player who can't get a game at Fulham on the other hand seems like poor business because Fulham aren't any good.

Different era. The current Fulham, flush with EPL cash, would give Sutton-era chelsea and Larsson-era Feyenoord a very good game.

I doubt forays Fulham team would give MON Celtic side a good game.

Anyway, if Lennon thinks he's done enough in his trial stint then we should definetly take him on loan. I'm pretty sure his contract situation means he can sign a pre contract afterwards?
