I would be more worried about the heat than the pitch.

Ditto. I think a lot of people who haven't done intense physical activity in that sort of heat don't realise just how draining it can be if you're not used to it. Not making excuses, but the heat is a big advantage to the players who are acclimatised to it.

The only shred of consolation I can draw from that, is how keen Deila is on fitness. Hopefully the players' high levels of fitness can help them see the game through. It's going to be a match that ruins my nerves and I can't see them not scoring.

I found it hard to even walk in that heat so it's a huge worry for me. I don't know what style to play because they say not having the ball is more tiring so do we sit back and soak it up? Will be hard to apply a pass and control game if the pitch is bobbly.

Surely it will cool down by 2100 their time.

We need to start well. Last couple of games we have been out of the blocks pretty slowly, concentrate, focus and keep ourselves together. I would fling in a little experience as people have been saying with Commons, been there done that, knows what has to be done.

In an ideal world we would have had our opening league game postponed, allowing us to get out there and start acclimatising to the heat much sooner. Could maybe have even organised a small bounce game against a local side or something.

According to BBC weather, it's going to be in the low to mid 30's at night. Ooft

    * *, that's warm. Let's hope Deila doesn't play Commons then, that fat * will be breathing out of his * after ten minutes no doubt!

Players like Commons are much better in this sort of heat, they let the ball do the work more than running with it etc. which * you.

I wasn't being serious, it was a wee dig at those who say Commons is fat.

Pitch two days ago. A bit brown, hardly surprising when its currently 39°C.

people mention the heat and it makes me wonder if we ever train inside at higher artificial heats to get more used to it? never heard something like that mentioned
