    How high a calibre of player can we realistically expect though? Good enough to match PSG, Barca etc. at their own game?

    There has to be a balance. It's not either...

    A) Pass it out from the back
    or
    B) Punt it long every time

    You have to know when it's okay to play it out from the back.

    We've been up against a completely different animal in this PSG team - and there's a reason why they were touted to WIN the competition before it even started.

    The players will be as distraught as the fans, management too.

    We must pick ourselves up for Sunday, and put this behind us - whilst at the same time taking many many a harsh lesson from tonight.

    * parking the bus. Playing the way Brendan wants us to has given us two CL campaigns on the bounce, a 3-0 trouncing of anderlecht away, matching Man * over 180 minutes.

    We park the bus tonight we lose maybe 4-0.

    What do we learn from that?

    At the end of the day I am happy with third if we do it against Anderlecht, * hard group so if we end up coming away with 6 points and being in European football beyond Christmas is * magic.

    The champions league is just getting * stupid with the amount of money in it. At least we might actually win the EL. Which it was still called the UEFA cup though. Europa league sounds * pish.

    Tbf we started well and looked strong but after their 2nd goal we shat it as usual.

    Makes me think, if we are raging with these fear ridden performances... what to * are the Lisbon lions thinking watching this? Men of steel watching our wimpy away performances in the CL era. Which includes MON WGS NL RD and BR terms.

    Seriously... Liverpool, Swansea etc were the same - didn’t have that steel about them to shut out teams or fight for scraps.
    It’s Brendan’s way but sometimes it’s not always the best way.
