I thought after signing on fees for players they spent roughly that in 1 season. I wouldn't expect us to spend that but we should at least push the boat out. Losing the league to us in 98 was embarrassing to them, just as 21 is embarrassing to us. As much as any of the hun * on the Rangers board are, they don't seem to look down on their fans.

Would you put it past the guys running our club to have conducted the entire Eddie saga as a giant charade, knowing it would fail, with the end goal of arriving exactly where we are right now? I wouldn't

It * me off knowing we’ve needed a manager since November and now the best we can get is a guy from Australia that doesn’t even have the proper coaching badges

Looks like its happening with the great Ange Postecoglou. Scott Mcintyre is an Aussie journalist based in Tokyo Japan and is really close to the Ange camp.

Trust me he is a rebuilding squad guy and he gets results and wins trophies every where he goes.

Ill support him when he comes and hope he does the business but my disdain for those in charge remains, this guy however deserves our full support.

    * sake. May's well join the fake hype train and pretend he's a visionary that is going to win us the championship after our relegation. Give him time. Etc. Pass around the back and midfield to the back etc.
Shoot me. Etc. Fake yay all round.

Well done Celtic, with a guaranteed Champions league spot on offer. You went all in with a 4 and Mr Bun the Baker.

A gamble the board didn't have to take. There's no snobbery hin place here. He literally doesn't have the qualifications or the CV here to work with Celtic in its current state and build for the future. Absolutely scunnered at the running and direction of the club currently.

Worst part of this is that Kennedy will still be around coaching for us stinking up the place.

If this goes through im finished until everyone of those board members are gone.

Absolute disgrace they are still here after 3 months let alone bringing in some no mark to take us forward.

The usual negativity from the same people. It's always a risk bringing in a new manager. We thought Barnes/Dalglish would be great and they were failures. I don't remember anyone particularly complaining about Mowbray and he was a disaster. The huns thought they had the best in the world when they got Le Guen - disaster. Nobody had heard of Jansen - success.
This guy has experience and success at club and international level and seems to have a bit of character. From what I've read his team's play an aggressive high press and try to play the game in the opposition half as much as possible. That's what we need. We've been far too cautious recently - one striker, no wingers, 2 DMs, in the SPL - crazy for a team like Celtic.
I can't say he'll be a success, obviously he might not be, but no-one can say for sure he'll be a failure. You can't guarantee success - by some parameters even Pep has failed at Man City and Bayern as the CL is what they really want to win.
The really good coaches in Europe won't come here - they'll stay at a top club in their own countries who are no worse than us, and often better, and hope for a move to one of the top leagues. Why would a top European coach come to the SPL - it's laughable to think they would.
If he comes he'll get my support but obviously it won't be unconditional - if he's a failure then that would change but he should be given a chance.

I'm not against trying different coaches. Sometimes it works out. If we was in a great position player wise, structure wise, I'd be all for it. Just now though its such a huge task, especially for someone with no player contacts in this part of the world. So now he's relying on our * scouts. I don't doubt he may have great ideas, but can he then overcome the players attitudes? Can he overcome the pressure? I doubt it. 1 post later I forgot I was joining the hype train. Just got to pray it just for whatever reason, it works.

This isnt the time to be trying out an unknown coach in the hopes it works out. He has done * all in the past and even in interviews states that jobs with the under 21's was hard on him and he couldnt deal with the pressure.

The guy might be a nice guy, this aint his fault, its the boards for going down this cheap route YET AGAIN and bringing a yes man in with a * budget.

We are going backwards at a rate of knots. This full team needs changed,we need tactics, the youth development integrated and someone that knows Europe.EVerything this guy lacks.

If he's not a big a risk as you mention or an equal risk as compared to others, why did we not get him in weeks if not months ago?????
No quality coach in Europe would come here. Eddie Howe had agreed and far more highly regarded that Ange by his peers. Favre was happy to come also. So again not true.

Its a panic buy, with a short term approach in regards to the first team squad. There's no thought about youth, or player development, the consequences of signing players under new brexit rules. This guy simply won't have the contacts. It'll be done via Lawell and his puppets.

A risk yes, but this is too big a one to pull off, to close to the start of the season and with a CL spot up for grabs.
