He may have been a decent choice as a successor to Brendan Rodgers. Infact in hindsight a wish he did take the club them because I agree he has all the attributes to be a top coach in Europe.

But and its a big but. The club is down a hole right now, we need major surgery and a man not a kin to European football and the market will not do for the majority of fans. Ave said it before but we need a man who will come in with 5 or 6 players off the bat.

I genuinely dont think this Ange guy is as close to the job as the media are making out.

The same media had Rafa Benitez our manager, they also had Keane as our manager.

I suspect we've probably got this Ange guy on a shortlist and he's shot to the top of the bookies list purely because he's connected with the city group.

Maybe I'm talking * and he'll be appointed next week, but I'm not worrying just yet.

Don't want him here but there's been far worse shouts. Managed at a high level with city and played at a very high level most of his career as a winner..

 

No harm to Ange Postecoglou but this just smacks of desperation on the boards part and puts me in the line of thinking that the Howe.deal fell through because the club weren't willing to pay the price for the backroom guys, get Postecogloy in and he is possibly given Kennedy and Strachan and then it's a rewind of last season. There are plenty of managers out there with experience that could be offered the job ,at this point I would get Harry Redknap out of retirement that's how bad the club have sunk

 

Dont remember the media seriously claiming Rafa was the man at any point, Keane was in the door when Lennon left the first time and barked at the budget.

 

The board (as usual) have made a rip roaring * of it. If Howe wasn't a definite then we should've moved on weeks ago imo. We now need a proper structure in place rather than pinning out hopes on one guy to fix everything.

Back when Lennon was still manager, an article came out in the Mirror stating Benitez was our new manager, think it was in February?

Back in April, the media ran with with the story that Keane was set to be appointed, as "early as next week" continually being touted.

The link between the two at the time was they were bookies favourites, similar to this Ange guy.

There's obviously a chance they're, unfortunately, right about Ange, but I think theres a chance they're using the bookies odds as their source.

Yeah I didn’t realise how low it had got, but I should have known better because I had disconnected from here because of the football and felt the negativity. I do apologise if anyone felt I was getting in their face.

Your comment of him being successor to Rodgers, with hindsight yes definitely but I also think he needed to prove himself in a top Asian league, apart from the A league, to be accepted in Europe(using accepted loosely).
