Possible pay off if they promote and or he is waiting for the Palace jib which became free today.

Hodgson to Celtic though. Could be the young up-and-coming manager we need.

100% it's this. It's clear by now that it's a clause in Howe's contract, the Bournemouth staff coming or not won't affect his appointment. Will he never take another job if he can't get his staff from Bournemouth because they got promoted and they all want to stay there now, c'mon! No doubt he is on a promise from a few of them but even if he ends up without them I think he will still be our manager once his particular enforced sabbatical expires.

I take it that the players will be off on their holidays just now for their totally undeserved rest after their long hard (miserable) season. So, bearing that in mind, if we were to announce Howe today, he still wouldn't be able to work with the squad. and, hopefully, people at the club will have given him a full brief about the squad, training complex and funds available etc. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have him in sooner for everyone's peace of mind as this saga has really got the fans angry.

I’d be pretty confident in the theory that he’s waiting for Bournemouth’s play off to be sorted before him and his backroom staff are all announced together.

And I’m also confident that he’s already been working away in preparation for next season. Positions he wants players for, behind the scenes set up etc.

It’s frustrating the life out of me but I just can’t see it not being him who’ll be in charge next season. There’s been nobody else linked for weeks/months now. Nobody has come out to distance either us or him from the job since his agent said back in March or whenever that Howe won’t take over a job until the summer.

If it wasn’t Howe getting the job, we’d know by now. Celtic are never shy in pouring cold water on rumours.

Hearing it will be Lennon again and Hodgson as assistant, to be announced at the witching hour on the next full moon, supposedly final sticking point is a bar at Lennoxtown so players can have a wee drink but once that’s installed deal will go ahead HH dont shoot the messenger

Genuine question but why would us announcing him now before Bournemouths playoff games are sorted make any difference. Surely him being able to get staff from Bournemouth isn't make or break?

I think his first choice staff are currently at Bournemouth, and will stay if they are in the PL.

Apparently the Bournemouth fan that appeared on the 20 minutes Tim podcast about Howe said it looked like Stephen Purches was saying his goodbyes to the fans yesterday.

I saw a rumour they are wanting Parker if they go up . Dunno if its true but would imagine he would want his own staff

This is my 2 cents I think he clearly wants his backroom team from Bournemouth and we couldn't begrudge him of that if they don't go up they'll come with him and if they do my feeling is that kennedy will be his number 2 he's well placed to help him settle in quickly it matches up with Kennedy not knowing what's happening next season they won't want to announce anything without telling the current staff there is clearly a contractual dynamic there with bournmouth too i am firm that he will be our manager who comes with him is the mystery but if anyone is in twitter and are following the huns hysteria that he could go to Palace is brilliant they are scared of a proper challenge next season

If you want a laugh re the events of what happened on Saturday then have a look at a site called Transfer Tavern. I found it by accident when I googled transfers to see if there was any rumours etc. from the English news and forums re Eddie Howe and saw the huns fans responses to comments made by Rosa Zambonini of the SNP. One line in the actual article says "As such, thousands of Gers fans took to the streets to celebrate. While there was some trouble – 20 people were arrested (firstpost.com) – the celebrations were generally peaceful.". So, that'll give you a wee idea just how * this site is but it's worthwhile to know how warped people can be in their reporting (as we know here in Scotland).
