    Being passionate is good and all, but that attitude that we like about him, that passion that Lennon once had, is not going to cut it in modern football management.

    Players want to have an arm put around them and told how to be better. Not shouted at and berated because they * up and told they don't deserve to play/don't get the club in a heated exchange.

    When people name the dinosaurs of the game, it's not down to just age.
    Quite literally Keane and Lennon are the embodiment of the dinosaurs of the game now.

    Footballs moved on from the 90s and early 2000s and we are in a completely different world.
    Lennon didn't adapt at all and I've seen the square root of * all from Keane to suggest he has either.
    The fact he's been out the game so long doesn't help either.

    The only good points we have for Keane is the chuckles we get at the antics and stories we have heard, usually ones where he's went off on a rager, slamming heads, kicking bottles, screaming till he's blue in the face....that's absolutely useless in the modern game if you aren't backing it up with real coaching.

    Keane can get Tae * as a manager/head coach for Celtic.

    If he wants to be involved in the club he can be an ambassador and try to hold the club to a high level, or a scout maybe.

    Coach? Developing talent? No chance

    I don’t want Roy Keane as manager but ffs some of the hand wringing and wailing from some on social media is way over the top. Like Keano himself would say man the * up.

    He politely said he wasn’t interested when approached by Celtic and therefore wasn’t interviewed.

    I dont think the powers that be would trust a very outspoken roy Keane to keep his trap shut if things are not going how he was told they would in his contract and other background interference, the silent code would certainly not work here if it went pear shaped .

    I don't want Keane but I suspect what you've outlined while be the precise thinking of Desmond, Lawwell and McKay.

    Keane with some kind of progressive coaching team under him, similar to Gerrard at the Klan.

    Maybe Maresca will be the 'coach' and Keane the 'manager'.

    I'm sure that's what Desmond wanted back in 2014 with Ronny as Keane's assistant.

    If true then DD strikes again. I doubt many players will stay with keane in charge. we are replacing a out of date manager with one that is even worse....screaming and shouting is not the future.

    Given DD recent history of digging his feet in, in the face of fans ie lennon.....at this stage I'd be surprised if it wasnt Keane, in the face of fans.....

    I'm hoping he's hurting and has a B Rodgers moment ..
